just d'led the JUNE 13 Beta Update....
lets see what its got !

1- heal and hurt zones added ---now in MARKERS list.(sort of....cant choose them yet tho...)

Third person not working either … It could need verifying but I really need to backup stuff first if I do that ..
Anyone else confirm ?

oh my bad thought the hosting was new , but seemed to add custom content when I tried it and it actually worked this time lol, must be past my bedtime

I will add the missing marker files in the next beta build so Hurt and Heal Zones work

My tutorial map only has a few doors in it and since the Beta popped up they are behaving really weirdly, they are continuously animating!
Been there, done that, got all the T-Shirts!

Would it not have been possible to add a few lines of code
to the heal and hurt zone .lua in order for us to choose the level of
hurt or heal ammounts instead of it being hard set as is ?

@UNIRD12B Look in the scriptbank there is a health.lua/hurt.lua where the hurt/heal value is defined.

Markers are entities with predefined script. Not more

from looking at the other MARKERS..the majority of them have fields that can be altered
quite easily .
Hence--the "predefined script" can make that possible with a bit more code added in , can it not ?.

The zones work great and its no real biggie to edit the settings in them.
They are really small user friendly scripts

I am warming to the idea of allowing more non-scripter control of script logic, so things like common values can be tweaked, perhaps even as the game is playing (similar to F9 mode). Not got all my ideas lined up yet, but I think this will really bridge the gap between pure scripters and hacking in values through the entity properties.

Good idea Lee, maybe when an entity is selected, have the FPE all options available in the Properties panel, that way each unique instance of the entity could be a little different.

Also in the properties panel anim speed should be available for trees etc.

Please do! As a non-scripter myself any opportunity to tweak / make a script without scripting would be most welcome and appreciated.

UNREAL 1 did this in its first ever game--UNREAL.....in 1998 and it made making changes and additions to all the creatures easy and fun.

Certainly making more use of the side panel object properties is best. For instance the AI logic stuff should use the view distance in the panels and the view angle, etc as it does. But also we could have some more fields here for people that dont wish to jump into the lua directly to change.

Its good we can set the health "strength" and "speed" as most characters do use these values in the object fields.

Public Preview is not Beta, these fixes are on the Beta. To access the Beta you need an invite code, which you get by emailing Lee and requesting access to Beta. You enter that code in the Beta tab, and it will then list the Beta for you to select in the drop down.

Primary Desktop:
i7 7700,k NV1070 8GB, 16GB 3200mhz memory, 1x 2TB Hybrid, Win10.

Secondary Desktop:
i5 4760k, NV960 2GB, 16GB 2333mhz memory, 1x 2TB Hybrid, Win10.
