This is really just a word of encouragement to all the people out there
and ESPECIALLY the developers,
that really want to see GG expanded, continued in regular updates,
fixed, updated and become even MORE successful. To triumph!

GG must continue to evolve because _____________ YOU fill in the blank.

I say GG is better than (almost all the rest) of them out there, or at least
the potential for it to outpace it's rivals (by being more popular) is on the
pretty near horizon. One of the ways to revive the updates for GG would
be to hire a full time person (or two), in fact maybe not full time (depending)
who has the talent and drive to tackle the needs for GG. I'm not saying those
who are currently assigned the task lack those skills-- but obviously those are
the attributes a constructive developer would require! Also if somehow, PC gaming
is not enough (IDK?) then maybe find a route to allow GG to create console
games?! Sounds huge, but what does it take? (again, IDK?)
GG transferred to handheld devices is in a way already supported by 3rd party
software. So merging into Android, etc through AGK already has a presence.
I just can't give any real world experience with either of those programs-- anyone?

Why is GG better?
* It's simple-- the interface is very simple, and that for me is why it's better.
I want to be able to tutor people of all ages on the beginning techniques of
game making. If 3D is their preference, this would be the platform for that--
as long as it doesn't tank and it makes at least a few crucial upgrades.

* It has (or has had) a huge community of fan base that regularly contributes
all kinds of talent and time on the forums and across the board.

* TGC store is brimming with assets that you cannot compare anywhere for variety
and value to users.

* The scripting language of Lua is pretty easy to pick up and use. Some competitors
don't even have a scripting language.

* There is no subscription required for GG. Many engines are turning to the subscription
format to continue to use it. The "pro" versions can get pretty expensive.

*There is no royalty expected by GG for your game or for the assets in the TGC store.
If all else is nearly equal, people will certainly turn to the non- subscription and no royalty
platform over the competition. Win/ win.

If you look at the Steam competition, there is just a couple things that are more active
than GG. And those are not 3D. The 3D competition has their good features and some
lack of features. And most certainly a lack of community involvement!
The GG framework to become a big player in the field is already set,
it just needs a little TLC tinkering to open up the gate wide! Why is GG better than the
AAA titles? Because the AAA titles require certain stipulations if you want to launch a
commercial game and it becomes successful. GG is free from this burden or royalties
as mentioned above.

Any ideas from the rest of you guys?

GG can't go to console at this point. The only way is by using AGK and GG Loader.

I'm pretty sure AGK does not produce console compatible games. The original supported Ouya, but that is likely not the console people would be looking for Android and Apple are the main devices it supports and HTML3 to a degree. I do remember some touting of console support at one point, but as far as I am aware it never appeared.

My thoughts about GG for consoles was supposing
that it would certainly have to be a feature worked
out with much input from those professionals that are
"in the know!". And there's really no point to it being
considered very seriously with the state that GG is in
right now. So the whole point is that GG is taken by
the horns and galloped down the track like a winner!

Hey, so furthering my points above, I know the whole
crew is probably going strong on AGK Studio at this
stage of the game, but consider this--
When will we get Game Guru Studio?!

Man, that sounds good! -- I think. What do you think?

It's good to see newcomers with fresh ideas and enthusiasm. Just bear in mind us long timers have already gone through these types of threads many times. I'm pretty sure that the only way we would see some sort of AGK GG hybrid is in a new product altogether. It would be great to be proven wrong of course.
I can safely say there is no chance of GG ever going onto a console. It needs to run on PC first and even if it were perfect, it still would never go to console. It just doesn't earn the revenue needed for that. Consoles generally require licenses and that complicates things. TGC can't absorb them so end users would have to pay and that would not be cheap.
Have fun with GG and make the best games you can. That's mainly what it's for. If you want to go console you will have to get a pro dev engine of some sort.
