just started working with GG which i'm new to game development. trying to work on lighting and shadows and when i hit F1-F4 i get all these lines on the ground around the structure I've built and can see the shadow of the door in the house even though there is light inside the house. have a switch on the wall and outside the wall the switch shadow can be seen on the ground on the other side. any idea how to fix this please

Shut down Game Guru and then open the setup.ini file in the game guru root.
Set this statement as below.
pbroverride=1

Save the file, Re start game guru and retest the map.

right after I posted the other day the lines in the ground for some reason went away but I am still having trouble with shadows from doors going through floors and shadows of things going through walls. am I doing something thing wrong? placing light source in house but still gets shadows from the front door from outside and a shadow from a clock is going thorough the wall hitting outside on the ground. i checked the ini file and pbroverride is already set to 1. thank you for replying and for any help that you give me

Lighting in gameguru is a fickle thing, there are issues, many have been fixed, but there are still some, specifically with the sun lighting and shadows cast from the sun, for a wall to block the sun it has to be a specific minimum thickness otherwise the sun shines through it, i'm not sure what the measurement is in other modelling programs, but it's a minimum of 5 blender units thick in blender.

Primary Desktop:
i7 7700,k NV1070 8GB, 16GB 3200mhz memory, 1x 2TB Hybrid, Win10.

Secondary Desktop:
i5 4760k, NV960 2GB, 16GB 2333mhz memory, 1x 2TB Hybrid, Win10.

Laptop:
i3, Intel 4000 series graphics, 6GB memory, 1x 500gb HDD, Win8.1.

Without importing the object into a 3d program it would be rather tough.

Which door is this?

the shadow is coming from both wooden doors on the second. the shadow is going through the floor and hitting the 1 story floor.

the house i built from the ground up using the builder tools in GG. the i have 2 walls in place brick texture walls for the out sidewall and inside wall i'm using wall peice 1 mid. i did what the first tutorial vid said in how to put in doors and cut out the section of walls for the door.
as for the pack I'm not really sure I'll include the screenshot of the entity page on GG and the item name is solid red door

I've made those doors with a door frame 2 years ago for easy placement and forwarded them to Lee so that they could be added and used for EBE if the doors were to his liking.
I'm still without a new pc so i've not yet made new PBR textures for them, hence they use the old shader entity basic.
There is the ability to set an entity to not cast shadows, won't that eliminate this problem?

In the .fpe (text file) that you have for every entity in the entitybank folder, change or insert the line to read:

castshadow = -1

for those entities that you don't want to cast a shadow (usually this line is set to 0).

Cheers.

turning shadows off has solved one problem but i think it produced another. now there is light coming through closed door hitting the floor where the shadow was meant to be
