For me, this is a serious issue. The avatar in the forum can't be set unless we provide it with a link. I think it'd be better if it was enabled with Gravatar so that whenever a new user registers (and he has gravatar linked with his email) his avatar would show up otherwise the user should be able to upload his own avatar.
