It would be a good edition and less time consuming shaping a hole in the ground if we were able to
punch out sections in the ground using an adjustable punch cut out tool.

I'm sure it would be a nice addition to GG.

I remember asking for this a long time ago,punch a hole in the side of a cliff and put your cave model there.basements in building ect ,I don’t think it will ever happen .you could try and put it up on GitHub

Terrain is a single mesh in which only the height of the vertices can be changed. To do what you suggest would require a new terrain system in place of the off-the-shelf one GG uses.

I dont think that is what he wants. We have a round brush shape right now, and would be helpful, if we could use other shapes for the brush like square, or some other kind of alpha shape. Maybe even pick a shape from alpha's that we have for paint programs.

@ Pirate Myke , yes that's what I was talking about , sorry punch was bad word to use sculpting brush more than just
the round one.

Alright. Would a couple more brushes be difficult?
For example a brush that generates random terrain-- for filler.
Quite like that made already in a "random" map.

And the "contrast" if you will or height variation could be adjustable
so that it's relatively smooth to relatively jagged. yeah!
