Hey guys,

I haven't used Game Guru for about three years now and recently, I decided to start working with it again. I'm working on a short level to learn the basics all over again, and I'm having an issue with painting grass.

My level has water (about waist-height to the camera), and when I try painting grass on the terrain in areas the water is covering, the grass won't show up in test game. Oddly enough, when I paint the terrain in the test-game, it works and the grass shows up in the water. But , for whatever reason, these changes in test-game don't save, and the grass I painted manually in test-game is gone the next time I jump into the game. Am I overlooking a "save grass" key?

It let's me paint the grass in the-test game in the water (just made a quick example in a new map), and if I remove the water, paint grass in the editor, and raise the water level, the grass also remains UNTIL I exit test-game and relaunch. There has to be a way to add grass in shallow water, right? And if not, what reason is there be to prevent the engine from allowing this to happen?

Indeed it does show grass in water if I follow your procedure which i didnt know ..
But genrerally the two dont mix so im guessing next time you launch it just recifies itself ?
Looks cool though and would be good if we could ..

Yep. Only other option I can think of would to be to import the grass as a dynamic entity and turn off it's collision/physics, but;

1. Would probably affect performance being everywhere around the map (or at least in the water areas), and

2. I'm trying to make a level at the moment using only stock media that ships with Game Guru.

Grass and water mask are conflicting on you.

But you can place a plant, shut off its physics in properties, and then extract it and spray it around br pressing the i key and then spray it on the terrain in the water. This routine angles and rotates it for you also.

Thanks Myke,

Not exactly the answer I was hoping for, but this is Game Guru, after all, so I guess it wasn't entirely unexpected. Whatever gets the job done, I suppose. 'Preciate it.
