Well, i've been trying to learn sculpting and texture painting, and was finding it very difficult using a mouse. So i dug out an old drawing tablet i had stuffed in a cupboard and tried that, it's been an improvement, but it's still awkward having to keep myself focused on the screen while drawing and not be tempted to keep looking down, so i bit the bullet and bought myself one of these today, can't wait to get it home and try it out ...

It's basically a 10.1 inch monitor that you can use as a drawing tablet, no more having to force myself to look up all the time

Anyone else use one? What's your opinion on them?

Your going to have fun with that ,I got a UG-2150 when it first came out because it was cheap,it’s shot up in price now.thers nothing like painting on the actual screen ,it’s great .happy texturing.

Well i managed to get it set up and have a play with it. It was a bit of a pain to set up because the instructions aren't very clear (looks like it's a chines product with a translated manual so it's in pigeon english "input is not support" lol).

When i first tried it, it was showing a third desktop (i already have two monitors) but was drawing on the primary display, i checked the settings and input was directed to monitor 3, checked NVidia settings and the tablet was monitor 3, so i was stumped.

Tried cloning displays so what was displaying on the primary displayed on the tablet, but that just showed an annoying floating error message saying "input is not support", finally worked out that is because the main monitor was at 1920x1080 and the tablet is 1200x800 so resolutions were conflicting, so i can't use it to clone the primary, and had to go back to extended display and having it as a third desktop, but still had the issue of it drawing on the wrong screen.

Finally worked it out, and it was something really simple, the monitor ID numbers in the software for the tablet don't correspond to the actual monitor ID numbers in NVidia control panel! I switched it to monitor 1 instead of monitor 3 and it now works perfectly.

Despite the issues setting it up, i really love this drawing tablet, it makes sculpting and texture painting so much easier, i can now actually use substance painter to its full potential. It's a little awkward to get used to, and it will take a while to be able to use it seamlessly, but it's going to make my life so much easier.

My only gripe with it is that while you can program the buttons on it to be alt, shift, and control, a lot of software doesn't register when you press for example the alt and shift buttons together, which is important in Blender because the button mouse emulation you need to use to use a pen requires alt+shift key presses for moving the screen, so i need to have one hand on the keyboard, but saying that i would have one hand on the keyboard anyway because of all the keyboard shortcuts i need to use in Blender, so it's no biggy .
