How does one actually download the game guru program to a PC so they can back it up on a another device.
Steam says that things are only downloadable for a short time but they provide no way of actually re-downloading a program that I have already paid for.
Is it not possible to take possession of a product that I have paid for and downloaded already?

GameGuru can be installed, uninstalled at any time via steam ( just like any program bought on steam ) ...
There is no " Short Time " ?
I have no idea where you got that information ... Just install it and your done until you decide to remove it ..
For a backup purpose just backup the main files folder that contains your assets, Maps and scripts

I'm really not following the "short time" either. Something's wrong if that's true. It should forever be downloadable! If it's in the default directory, it's not going to let you re-download it into the default directory, but you can drag and drop the whole thing elsewhere and do it again if you wish.

During the process of getting GG through steam there was a blurb that said that downloads would be available for a limited time.
However there was no statement saying how long.
It is possible that I misunderstood.
That sort of thing can happen when someone is new to something.

yep your good to go with that one …
It will stay installed until you choose to remove it and even then its easy to reinstall again
However the main reason you need steam is for the automatic updates ( which have been more frequent lately )
