Hi all i have played far cry2 just a bit after all these years again today and it was nice again to run around in the Africa jungle.
also went thru some off my maps i have build. i realize that after looking thru all my maps ( and there are a lot ) that i have spent a lot of years building maps and played far cry2 online, especially sniper maps. Yes that was nice back then. have any one of you guys played far rcy2 and online maps. ?

I never played any FC2 online maps, but I did play FC2 some years ago. I thought they did a great job with the general atmosphere of rural Africa, but I thought the game itself was a bit of a depressing grind. I tried replaying it a few months ago but gave up after a few hours.

Gtox, yes i never completed the story line, but got hooked on the online maps.

I finished far cry 2 a few years back but wouldn't call it old yet
It still holds up visually in a lot of areas and I found it to be quite bold how bleak and depressing it was designed.
Had major issues with the bulletsponge enemies though.

@ wolf - agreed, a depressing atmosphere can work if the combat mechanics are engaging (eg Dark Souls), but the FC2 combat just wasn't satisfying at all. I also thought that the ending was ridiculous, but that's a minor quibble.
