you was right about the start maker.
the reference is ignored in the soldier fpe,
allowing you to put custom animation frames in.
i have tried changing the animation.
but the placement of a character on the start maker
is referencing the old script and using the original animations,
it is not ignoring the for reference only, that is used in the
other scripts. defaulting back to the gun pose, perhaps a bug or not intended for use.
perhaps lee could check it, i did try changing the animation o or idle to a completely different
set of key frames. it is a shame top down has some great potential.
i plan to do a remake or a GG version.
all you old school members will remember this.
