Can we do this yet?
This is a very old fpsc model that was not only animated but would place an animated decal in a specified position on the entity defined in the decalspec file.

Can this be done with lua commands, script, or Voodoo?

Please let me know my friends. Your pal Cos.

I haven’t looked in the zip file but in principle yes - by using scripts developed by AmenMoses - think they are called ‘dynamic_entity’ and they use quaternion library (also developed by AM) that I believe is shipped with core GG now.

Basically with the scripts attached correctly the attached decal or any other entity will maintain its position and orientation to the parent entity as it is set/placed in the editor.

Some examples exist of how to use - probably in the script board.

It works really well. Assuming I haven’t missed your point

Cheers.

Since that thread the quaternion code got 'fixed' so it will probably need tweaking. Let me know if it doesn't work as advertised and I'll take a look at it.
Been there, done that, got all the T-Shirts!

THANK YOU!!! You guys are the best! I've been asking, and wanting this feature forever, for building Scifi consoles and such.

Thanks again, Cos.
