Hi...

I could not help but start a new project. It's just right for the weather in our latitudes: Polaris.
It should be a complete polar station from the years 1950 - 1980 arise. I think this topic is not very common. The first 3 models already finished. Everyone else will have to wait a bit. I just wanted to ask if such a theme pack would be worthwhile. I already have the first pictures. Which sky is better?

Hi...

First of all thanks for all the comments. I have finished a few parts. Yes, some buildings are walkable. I will also create some simple animations. Everything that should follow now has to wait.
Yes, Wolf, I had the topic a few years ago with FPSC. That was very simple.
First impressions ...

So see you soon...

Hi...
Thanks for the comments.
I have some minor issues with transparency, especially with the trees. It forms ugly edges, which are more or less visible depending on the Skybox. Is there any way to eliminate it? It's also about the old trees with entity_basic.fx. They have not been nice since the update. Unfortunately, I can not send pictures at the moment because I do not have access to my PC. I would be very grateful if someone could help me ...

Best regards Andreas

@granada I love that movie, what a classic and yes this set could easily be used as a start to "The Thing" game. With a different title obviously.

Let's face it there wasn't much more to it than this set shows already.

Hi

I'll get back to you with a new model in 2 variants. A snowmobile. I will add a few decoration vehicles and a few props. I want to finish slowly. Maybe someone has some good ideas left.

Hi...

I have to admit, the topic does not produce much object material. I'll finish up some indoor objects and probably add a research object. How and what I do not know yet. Here is a radio station.

I have now added a small boiler house and a simple transformer station.

At the moment I am busy with an ice cave system.

Pictures follow. A pumping station is also a good idea. I will deal with it.

I have pushed a model of a generator in between. I have been working on texturing for a long time and unfortunately I am not quite satisfied with the final result. I have recently purchased bitmap2material cheap. Unfortunately, my English is not that good, so I always have to try everything first. This takes time and is very frustrating. If someone uses this tool, it would make me happy if he could explain to me in a short order the process of creating the pbr textures with this tool. I would be infinitely grateful ...
(that was google-english, I hope I expressed myself in a reasonable way)

Hi...

I've added a few more puzzle pieces. Nothing special, but probably part of it. It occurred to me that there is already a lot of furniture. If I do not think of anything special about the subject, I'll come to a conclusion slowly.

@ Bod
Ok, but that's been a while. I can not remember this part at all. But Lara was great.

Hi...

@Granada
Thank you....

I've been working on the theme pack for a while now. Slowly I have enough. That's why I decided that a helicopter should become the last model. I do not know much about these things, so I always improvise. I am now building about 6 hours. The result is not yet intoxicating. For that I handpainted the texture. I'll probably have to work on it for a few more hours. I hope the result will reward my work .....

After a long night, the helicopter is ready. I could perhaps adjust the sizes, and attach a small label or something.

My little flight park. Through the hill on which I stand, the objects appear like toys....

I have provided the plane and the helicopter for animation. I have to see what the models look like with animations. As a static object, I see no problem if I give them an animation, then with the rotations of the propellers. I would also add a takeoff and landing sequence to the helicopter and the associated pitch angle. It would be nice if someone wrote a script for a start and landing zone. Then you could use the animations optimally.
I'll do a start / stop animation, a simple rotation animation to get up and down and create a flight animation with tilt, let's see ....

Would that be something now?

Lafette II as long as you have animation on the helicopters blade , Amenmoses helicopter script will do the rest , providing it fly in the right direction ( forward. ) he's script handles the start of the blades the take off and the landing.

Hi...
First animation series for the helicopter. It consists of 7 individual animations: start-fly-fly-fly-slow-down-stop. For the flight sequence, I brought some unrest, it looks a little more genuine. I really needed a while for the video. Due to the frame rate, it always looked as if the rotor blades are stationary, or just twitch wildly. In the game that looks much better. Now only someone has to write the appropriate scripts.

@ PCS I have animated it now. I will create and upload a sample model to try, just give me some time ....

@ Wolf The pictures are very good. All this with bloom is especially good. Unfortunately, the frame rate of my PC goes to its knees. It is very effective.

So.
I have uploaded a test helicopter now. There are 2 x files in the folder. The 2nd contains a total of 9 animations. I have no problem if I have to do everything again. But for a skilled scripter, this should be something to do with it.

DOWNLOAD the wood copter and have fun....

Hi...

Thank you PCS

I have just finished a polar lights test. It could be better, but that's the way it works. I have only seen the green lights so far. But that can certainly be designed with other colors.

Is it even possible to read what I write with my google english?

Hi...

I have now reached my old position, and I am about to complete. A few small handles and then the pack is ready. The aircraft animations are complete from the start to the end of the propeller. Likewise from the helicopter. The snowmobile drivers themselves are not animated. However, provided with a simple script that lets them circle. The same applies to the aircraft that you should set to allways active. With special scripts you can certainly improve something there. The sound is also available ....

Last moves. The visual design with the animated pack contents can begin.

When I saw the polar lights for the first time, I was fascinated. That was in central Sweden. They are not there so often and strong to see. The polar lights in the video are decals. It was not so easy for me to create them. But they are finished and part of the pack, which still needs a bit of time. I want to build a few more ice floes.

Hi...

The polaris pack causes me a headache. The reworking takes more time than I thought. In between, I continue to tinker in chinatown2088. I'll spend more time with the models now. Especially with the texture painting. My newest object: a drink machine
With handprint scanner for payment. Very modern in a retro look ...

@ Tarkus1971 I also like the night scene. All I have to do is create a lot of advertising posters. Then maybe it looks even more impressive
