So what do I do when I find a great idea by someone else (in this case DVader - not my father)?

Well I sort of rewrite it a bit.

This script when added to a character lends that characters body to the player, see this video to see what I mean:

Now this is GG so obviously nothing is quite that simple, in this case you need to edit the .fpe file for the character (I simply knocked up a character in the character creator thingy) so that the anims match the following:

animmax = 4
anim0 = 3000,3100 ; idle
anim1 = 3870,3900 ; walk
anim3 = 3905,3925 ; run

The frames obviously need to match the character, in the example they match those for any character creator made one.

Been there, done that, got all the T-Shirts!

Thanks should really go to DVader who originally provided the script. I just revamped it a wee bit.

This could probably be expanded on, for example detect if the player is armed or not and choose the appropriate animation, add crouch and jump etc.

You do have to choose the camera point carefully for different character types, for example some of the zombies are naturally leaning forward so the camera ends up in the top of their skulls which is rather disconcerting!

Hmn i'm wondering if you can control the animations externally on that, for example if you made a model with a "fiddle" animation, could you set up a script in an object that would play the fiddle animation on your body when you click the object?

Didn't work with my old soldier character(180 degrees out), but ran okay as soon as I made a new CC character. I had to alter the view distance down a little to stop some of the object looking see-thru. Works as it did before now by the looks, although the real-time shadow doesn't look as sharp now as it did, but I'm sure we can live with that Nice conversion.

Your right though, I hardly recognise it now, lol. Tried adding a straffe anim but not had much success so far. My old method of checking your position is less needed now, but will have to spend some time with it.

@ Belidos.

Can't see why not. It would have to override the body's anim's or simply lock you in place while it runs. Just need the anim to do it really The main issue with the body script is it falls down when you have a gun and hence 4 arms, although I'm not sure if you can see the shadow of them, just the arms lol.
