Hi all

Been messing around trying to create some lava decals for one of my levels. Now I know there are some great decals around, but really wanted to make something using my own custom terrain images so that it looks like the ground has molten type look and well I just want it to blend with the my custom terrain. Plus it is cool to learn new stuff

I am using Photoshop and the best I have come up with so far is far from fluid. One try made it look like the ground had a heart beat lol

Anyway I was just wondering if there are any tools you guys can recommend for making this type of asset.

Also can someone explain how the different decals are read by the system.
Decal_Animate4
Decal_Animate8
Decal_Animate64

For example Decal_Animate4 - From what I can see is it cuts the texture into blocks and reads each section from left to right and top to down as in this image:

Thanks for any input

sample of hot liquid decals

Decal_Animate4 = 4 images on a sheet - basic tv/pc screen flicker etc..
Decal_Animate8 = 8 images on a sheet - medium moving paper etc....
Decal_Animate64 = 64 images on a sheet - highest smoke/fire, rain, snow etc....
