Well, we now have several Tardis models at our disposal, so now I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in making a script and animated Dalek/Cyberman? I'm willing to pay as I have a real drive to make a Doctor Who fan game. I've already written a story and made some plans but without a recognized Doctor Who monster it just doesn't feel right. Sorry if this is in the wrong section, wasn't sure where to put this.

No, we don't have ANY tardis models. We have models of old fashioned police boxes. If we had Tardis models we would be infringing copyright and intellectual rights and be open to legal actions

Likewise the chances of getting the kind of models you want made for you would be slim, because if they sold or distributed them they could be sued for copyright breech.

It's a very fine line and you have to be very careful.

Fantastic work to both synchromesh & Graphix, they're both exactly what I'm looking for. And yeah I was thinking my game would be free too, couldn't sell it or I would be in deep trouble I think

To be honest im not sure you could even give it away .. It really is down to the BBC I guess .
I know Lucas took a few to court for releasing free mods … No idea of the outcome though ?

its all a bit silly really i don't believe i would take money from the BBC with my little model but the law is the law

Yup the police box is fine, but daleks will still be daleks no matter what you call them.

Also I'm not sure if you're aware, but there's legislation going through the European courts at the moment that is going to rearly nail down copyright legislation on the Internet, if it goes through you won't even be allowed to do something as basic as quote an image from another website without tons of permissions and paperwork. It's going to be a nightmare.

Indeed - and who in the world could ever send Lucas broke by making a mod?

We all know copy-right is a complete joke!

I used to be in the building game and spent 10 years of that installing ornate fibrous plaster ceilings and cornices. The end result in many many lounges and passageways is a work of art - yep it is art! - but the law won't let me charge the owners and all their guests admission every time they walk into their lounge room and look at my work of art - really, what gives!!

Copyright is just a way for those (greedy so-n-so's) who already make a fortune to keep getting paid for the same job over and over and over and over and...... ok rant over

But as said the law is the law.....

Reliquia....

Nailgrind, a man after my own heart. When I started out back in the day of FPSC, the first game I wanted to make was a type of Dr. Who. Someone was kind enough to actually make me a Tardis-like police box. It even spun around like the Tardis. In game, I called it something else by coming up with my own acronym. Then I got side-tracked because I needed a lot more commands to be able to have more role-playing capabilities. I spent a whole year adding more than 2,000 lines of code to the DB Pro engine for FPSC. This was full-time 6 to 10 hours a day and almost 7 days a week. I created it mainly for myself and therefore it was not exactly user-friendly but very effective. Some wanted me to release it; even to charge for it but I didn't want to do that. I then decided to give it away for free. From then on I had very little time to work on my game and before we all knew it FPSC crashed and burned when Lee decided to start on FPSC-R.

The actual reason for this post is to say that I believe one can use models that resemble Dr. Who models. Instead of the TARDIS, I called it my TASDIM. I even had a sonic screwdriver that I called something other than what it's called on Dr. Who. I can't remember its name right now.

Anyway, this gives me a chance to show the inside of the TASDIM (TARDIS). It's much larger on the inside and a little less cluttered. The outside still is a Police Box. At around 33-36 seconds, you can see a desktop replica spinning about while an alien is typing away.

That last "Dalek" / Robot is fantastic, just not sure what you would call it and would you have to change it to get it in the store.
