I want to use the same mesh multiple times, each time with a different texture. The first time I imported Armco_3_straight.x, it loaded fine and I was able to save it out no problem. I then tried to load the same .x file again to create a second version with a different texture but now the 'select texture' window has disappeared (see pic). Restarting Game Guru makes no difference, neither does importing a totally different .x file and then going back to Armco_3_straight.x later.

Has anybody else experienced this? Do I need to somehow clear the cache of the model importer?

Fear not, I will be improving the Model Import feature and releasing a Public Preview soon so we can work through your multiple textured model issues in time for the next final release. Having some good results with FBX importing now, so watch this exciting space

Lee for the FBX importer in GG what kind of FBX gg accepts?
becausse in 3ds max 2017 we have differents fbx formats
2006/2009/2010/2012/2013/2014/2015/2016/2017

it would be nice to work with the latest FBX 2016/2017 because of bugs removed and compatibility, now in the gg side i dotn know if this is possible!
We definitely need to stop working with obsolete fbx formats like 2006/2009/2010/2013 too old formats and buged.

As far as I know the current fbx import works best with 2010, which is (from what I've seen so far in modelling software I've used) the most common format used by modelling sof ware.

The latest public preview (2018.06.18) seems to have a similarly broken model importer. My .X files now no longer show up in the importer preview (see first pic attached) and then once saved out, they forget all UV information and simply tile their 'color' textures hundred of times (see second pic attached).

Do I take it from that that DirectX 8.0 files (as exported from Milkshape) are now no longer supported in GG?

EDIT: fbx import seems to work, and I like that I get the option to specify color, gloss, normal, and ao maps, but the import scale seems to be about 50% what it would be as a .x file.
