Did you try smallg's script edit to the module_combat core.lua ?
It seemed to make a huge difference for the better

I can try zero but I would expect not to be detected ..

EDIT ... Zero started good but then went rubbish once one did detect me
Then they all just stand and shoot ..

Isn't that the point? 0 means no limit (except the hard coded limit) so if they can shoot you why would they move?
The current AI is not programmed to do anything except hunt and destroy.

@topic title
I don't see why the settings matter, the AI shouldn't shoot through solid walls no matter what you put for the settings, it's a bug with the ebe collision.

That's what I meant ....
Started good couldn't see me ... But once one did ( had to be in his face ) they all started shooting through walls ..

@smallg, Hello and welcome. That is correct, settings never mattered.

@synchromesh, Ah. I see. Well I was curious, as you guys have been around maybe longer than me here recently. Maybe some secret setting.

Thank you for acknowledging this issue and looking into it. Sometimes I do get a little frustrated when my bug reports seem to get dismissed. For example, a while ago I reported a bug where characters created in the character creator were appearing headless. I kept reporting it and kept being told it must be something on my system. Then, weeks or months later, Lee posted a dev blog entry titled: "Headless No More". The bug had obviously been fixed.

I'm not being critical of the devs. I know it is sometimes hard to replicate bugs. Just saying it can be frustrating.

I guess the headless bug thing rankled a bit because I was working on a big game to give to my two young nieces for Christmas. I wanted it to feature characters with their (my nieces') faces. Unfortunately, it ended up with headless characters instead, LOL.

Your Joking of course
Headless characters were common and I just found quite a few reports on it from back then. I even confirmed a couple..
They weren't dismissed as Lee actually fixed the issue in the end.. However once in a while it randomly crops up again..

Have you tried removing the .ebe file of the structure
It then becomes a complete standalone model just like any other ... Just wondering ?

@synchromesh
have saved Ebe structures, though not completely in parts.
I did test, Floor and one wall (save) add wall (save) etc. and it didn't work. Though I believe there may be a trick to when the AI is added to the map in the process. Thank you. you got me thinking.
Tested several options, placing AI, then building, saving part build and continue. Breaking up parts from center and building out in sections seems to give the best results.

Maybe the headless character bug was reported by other users but the impression I got was the devs thought it was a problem at my end. Maybe I was one of the first to notice it and so it was new to them. I know Lee fixed it - the Intel Black Belt that he is. That's the important thing. I no longer wake up in a cold sweat having had a nightmare about it.

@lordjulian, Yeah the guys here do a great job. I'm sure they may have meant to inform you, though were working behind the scenes on the fix. Cool that its working, I like that feature. One of the guys here mentioned an idea about having more way to have versions of the same skins would be a good option too.

@any Mods, cool to have this moved to EBE section if possible. Thank you.

@anyone else reading, sorry to bump this again.

*Edited

Found my answer after some digging about the Memory issue.

@granada, It may assist someone now or in future asking the same questions, The videos I do for fun, small hints nothing more, up to the developer how they approach. There is more I haven't covered, I should have asked more questions first though. As I have read recently that some things have changed a little since two years ago, though most of this seems pointless now after reading about the Memory crash and burn. Also, may I ask? Do you use GG for hobby use or working on a project to sell?

@Ertlov, I see your in Australia am I correct? Also, recently I read the following reply you made and had to re quote. Good times, hope all is well.
Quote: "Quote: "it is a product for beginners and kids first"
Nope, or at least it shouldn't be. GG evolved from FPSC-Reloaded, which was by then a promised improved, reloaded, overhauled version of FPSC, which was by then the playground for Pros and tinkers, and definately not for kids."

It’s more of a hobby for me but as I get more free time now I would like to build something for release at a later date when real life stops getting in the way .
