Sometimes when I attempt to use the importer to import an FBX model it doesn't show in the importer preview (I tried using the scaling slider) then seems to import but when I select it from the entity library it doesn't show in the map.

Does anyone know why?
What is the maximum number of polygons?
What other considerations are there for optimising fbx models for importing?

BTW, I mostly use 3D-Coat to create and export models.

Sorry for my ignorance but I've only just started creating my own models.

If I'm not mistaken, I think the "Import Model" feature can only handle models that are in x format... At least for the most part... You might try to convert the FBX model to x format and give it a try.

Some FBX models work and some do not. It is hit or miss right now with FBX.
But Some FBX files also work being called from the FPE file.

There is a thread around here somewhere with it. I have had it work also.

The importer has support for .X, .FBX, and one other, I think know it's .3ds. But, only .X import supports bones and animations, and .FBX import doesn't support every version of .FBX.

OK. Thank you. So I might try converting them to .X via Milkshape.
