Product Chat / Old _N _D _S textured models render slower in Public Preview than PBR

I've been experimenting with converting some older models to the PBR standard.

As noted in another post, I am experiencing very slow FPS is a older large map using about 100 old style non-PBR models

I completed the conversion for one model and then placed them both in a new terrain in the Public Preview

I noted a 10% to 15% faster FPS with the PBR model vs the older style.

1) As the PP of GG continues to evolve, will there be speed improvement for older models?

2) Any estimate to when the Public Preview will be out in it's final form?

By default GG will render your old models as PBR, there is a option in setup.ini that allow you to use the old shaders for non-PBR models.

Edit setup.ini and change "pbroverride=1" to "pbroverride=0".

When you change to pbroverride=0 , old non-PBR media will be faster,. but you can still use new PBR media.
