In the public preview some entities have graphical glitches and I cant tell why.
I can only show these pictures and hope some of you may know what this is about...

Please focus on the tree branches, they have white outlines and it looks really strange.

edit: Now I made some videos to show the issues in motion.

second level runs better though... and I dont know why...

Yeah, this looks like it has a very small layer of snow on it, weird, I hadn't noticed that myself. It is probably just something to do with the fact that they are still working on everything at the moment. I wouldn't be surprised if it got sorted before this preview was launched officially.

Have you tried using the apbr_tree.fx or apbr_treea.fx file?
This is if you are running the public preview version.

Just open up the trees fpe and find the shader line and change it to apbr_tree.fx (you may have to delete the auto generated .dbo and restart gameguru for the change to take effect)

.dbo files for models are basically a very basic model file generated by gameguru to speed up loading it into gameguru, kind of like a cache file. As long as you have the .x file then you can delete it, what will happen is a new file will generate when it's loaded again, that's why sometimes .fpe changes don't stick, because the .dbo caches some of the information.

Before you do delete it though, just check the .fpe and make sure the model reference isn't for the .dbo, as models brought in via the importer will be set up to use the .dbo (i have no idea why Lee did it this way, maybe it was an early attempt at model optimization?) instead of the original model file. If in the model reference it has modelname.x then you are good to delete the .dbo.

Its also possible to convert a Dbo file back to a .x file if the situation ever arose so its certainly handy

I've noticed this issue in the public preview as well. Its commonly on thin meshes that have the alpha channels applied. So its on a few buildings that have thin banisters. The edges of them seem to reflect from the cube map. Did you try reducing specularity to see if it still has those edges? I have not tried this myself yet.

I mean in the object property panel of the tree? Though I don't think this would make much of a difference. I think its more related to PBR.

It is. When I do pbrpverride = 0 in the setup, everthing works fine. But it somehow doesnt look that good anymore lol

I tried all suggested fixes now, none of them helped... I delelted the dbo file and changed the shader... reduced the specularity...

nothing.. hmmm

Did you do the above while gameguru was shut down and not running, then run it after the change? Sometimes if gameguru is still running while you make changes, those changes don't stick.
