Hi

I created a chatacter in character creator to use it for the 3rd person view. I wanted it as an unarmed character, so i changed the animations to the right frames. Now, if i place this character into the level as a non player character, the animations work fine and there is an unarmed character. But if i place the same character on the player marker to use it as 3rd person entity, then it still shows the character in an armed position.

I'm having a similar issue in that my player character is holding his arms out like he's holding a gun. Though he's unarmed.

Yes I have also found this issue and it seems hard coded
No matter what you change in the animations he defaults to that stance once attached to the marker.

Try these in the fpe - obviously replace the anim ranges for your own model:

csi_stoodnormal = 94,154 ;idle;;used for TPV index 0 and for all non indexed calls as a default
csi_stoodmovefore = 1,33 ;walk animation (TPV) ;is index 1
csi_stoodmoverun = 68,92 ;run animation (TPV) ;is index 5
csi_stoodvault = 644,704 ;jump animation (TPV)

Cheers.

I must be doing something wrong ... as soon as hes on the start marker he defaults to fire and the default anims ..
In fact I removed all the anims from the fpe and he still works .. But holding the gun

Is that an older vid ? I admit it used to work but doesn't for me now ...
can you confirm a fresh character works ?

Yes it's an old vid but that character still works in public preview version.

Just tried it on a character creator char with this and seems fine:

csi_stoodnormal = 3000,3100
csi_stoodmovefore = 3870,3900
csi_stoodmoverun = 3905,3925
csi_stoodvault = 2281,2332

Cheers.

ahh works this time
Thanks cybernescence although after throwing a punch he tries to default back to the gun stance for a split second ...
That's a little annoying but still room for me to progress a little demo ..
Awesome thanks

Now i've noticed, in 3rd person view the character doesn't crouch. Also tried with all the characters which come with GameGuru. They all don't crouch in 3rd person.

Thank you very much @cybernescence

I was going crazy because the animation of the third person character, even disarmed, was like carrying a weapon.
