Considering working on the X-10 guys. Does anyone know the licensing behind them? Distribution rights? Original author?

Your best bet would be to throw an email in Lee's direction, he would know who has the rights to them, and if TGC has the rights he would be able to grant or deny permission to "fix" and redistribute them.

Only create illumination maps for those that need them on their gear where there are LEDs. The textures are pretty good as is.

All the stock assets from X10 are owned by TGC, and we used internal artists to create them. You are free to modify and convert them for use in GameGuru or other game engines no problems, you just cannot sell them
