to make it even simpler to find,,,,you can go HERE

http://www.s2powered.com/copiasito/?page_id=1657

The other page you had to click on FREE TRIAL and go to the NEXT page and choose it.

AS you can see Earthling45 d/led it...and I just tried it right now.

Thx

Weird. clicking free trial didn't go to another page with the free trial on, it sent me to the buy page on the S2 homepage.

Doesn't really matter, I own it already on steam, just wanted to be sure for others

Quote: "I already have it. Have for at least a couple years. Crashed a lot, I remember, but that was some time ago that messed with it. The only other engine I really like aside from GG is UE4. I have a much longer-term project in mind for that, and although I've learned a lot so far with regards to Blueprint, etc, I have much much further to go. Thanks though."

Quote: "S2 Engine is not a stable piece of software. It crashes a lot. Its an unusual engine to compare to. Especially since we do not have any demos to test with to compare FPS and graphics."

Quote: "Well i had a go and had to restart after trying a testgame, i could not close it.
Then i tried to publish an executable and it hang after that, the executable does not run, it starts but that is as far as it goes."

Yup, S2 Engine is very unstable, it's good, but it is very prone to crashes, a lot of people have major issues with it, it's one of the main reasons I don't use it often, which is a shame because it is a good engine.

Quote: " Ironically that hallway scene with the lamp I actually thought that was a game guru scene at first. I can tell you for a fact that whats in that scene alone, shadows, lighting and etc all possible right now in GG."

Quote: "And there you have 99% of the answer ... Its not just GameGuru its the capabilities of the user as well
I cannot get amazing scenes like that either ... Impressive stuff Teabone !!"

Exactly what I've been trying to say all along. There's nothing in that hallway scene we can't do already, except the directional light on the wall, but that can be tricked by baking static lights close to the wall. Absolutely agree, Teabones work in GameGuru is always great

Hmmm Wasn't overly impressed though ... Noticed some glitching and slowdown issues ...
I have seen our community and GameGuru do a lot better

The only person ever to get all his work done by "Friday" was Robinson Crusoe..

@ALL : Could someone follow the above S2 advice and select a default stock scene and save out as an EXE and attach here. I can then run my side by side tests on my own system to get an idea of load times, in-game performance and visuals, e.t.c. Thanks!

I didn't fair well with it. It launched in the wrong resolution and wouldn't exit with Esc or any other key that I hit. Task manager was so large on the screen that open apps weren't visible and the view space wasn't adjustable. Had to reboot from task manger to exit. It looked like it would look nice in the proper resolution, though!

You can create already nice scenes with GG, it’s already a good stable engine.
Here’re some DX9 screenshots from a project I started earlier this year (waiting now for the DX11 update, l hope more reflections will be possible . )

I’ll not change the engine in the near future. Maybe a few more bug fixes, few more fps and I’m happy.
Old school FPS fan, DOOM!!! Why GG not working on my AMIGA 500?

I hope with the new DX11update they will release some HQ models, or a new DLC. For good models I would pay a good price

Even when using stock trees and vegetation, you can render cool scenes in GameGuru. I think GG is an awesome engine allready.

I recently played around a bit with some of the stock foliage and took some screenies. All I did was to de-saturate the textures a bit to give the scenery a more blended look.

Just make sure you read up on the licences for the assets developed for or on other engines before you import them. Especially if you intent to use them commercially in GG.

At the moment, I use only assets from the tgc store.
Maybe in the future I will buy some other ones, if we can import fbx files without problems...

You may have issues in the current live build, at the moment gameguru is fumy with transparency, what tends to happen unless you have set it up perfectly is that the transparent object occludes some objects behind it under certain conditions. However, so far in the current Beta i haven't been able to find any of these problems, and it seems to be easier to get transparency to work, so when he DX11 update is released there shouldn't be any transparency issue.
