I had a TI994a, which was cheap because TI was discontinuing it and it was the only computer my mother would buy me, lol. (I was only 13 or 14 at the time; couldn't get a job). The Ti was actually a decent computer (16 bit, 16kB ram stock), and if you could afford the peripherals, it was even better. Unfortunately, nobody wrote much in the way of software for it. I have bought 3 on ebay for about $5 each, "as is", and out of the 3, one works (they also came with some peripherals and software cartridges, in fact a voice synthesizer still in the original, sealed, shipping box. At least until I opened it, not realizing what it was, lol). I have considered taking one of the cases and modifying it to hold a pc motherboard (I have a mini ITX sitting on a shelf) and run an emulator. I just wonder how difficult it would be to integrate the keyboard into the PC environment, as the connections, I'm sure, aren't the least similar. I'm sure someone has done it. I'll look around. Anyway, back to the C64. One of my friend's dad had one and I got to use it, but only rarely. He had a ton of software (adult titles included), and all the peripherals. I was jealous.
