I have been noticing this for a while but didn't say anything because I was not at the point of putting things in the store. As you can see from the image below, the top of the entity from a certain direction has a very much lighter line across it. Can anyone help please or is this an engine problem?

This is not because of light getting in because I cut a lump out of a square for this so no light could get in where it is.
I have also double checked the texture and it is not that either.
When I Lightmap the entity it disappears.

HP Pavilion Laptop - AMD A8-4555M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics - 1.6GHz, 8GB Memory, Windows 10 Home, 64-bit Operating System.

I've got something to say - It's better to burn out than fade away.

It looks like it's erroneous light and shadows from the lightrays, probably the ceiling isn't the minimum thickness to block the light fully, which causes silly light lines and odd shadows.

In the past when this issue has come up Lees response has been Entities must be a minimum thickness of 6 units to handle this problem in realtime.

I must have missed that, normally I do make them more than 6 units anyway but with this one, I made a few of them a certain size and when I realized that this was wrong for matching them together I reduced the sizes by rescaling them.

This has given the problem of the walls, floors, and ceilings being less than 6 units (quite a lot less).

It does not give a reason why I have the same thing on the rectangular unit (top right), this is a solid unit of 40 x 32.5 x 13.5.

If you move your view so the unit on the right is in the position of the door in the center does the light leak then show above the unit?

I think the problem is (obviously) with GG when the view is in a certain position in relation to GG's current fixed light source.

It is the shadow shader. The problem is called Peter Panning because the shadow is disconnected.
You nee to change the value in the Settings.fx file that is located in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Game Guru\Files\effectbank\reloaded folder. In the settings.fx file goto the Adjust Shadow section and change the value.
The coffee is lovely dark and deep, and I have code to write before I sleep.

I believe the latest preben settings file is required for this to help. "Help" is the key word, I have not found a setting in the mentioned adjust shadow section that really solves the problem. Taking the setting down to "0" is as close as it comes to "minimizing" the light gap, but it will still exist.

What happens if you turn SAO off completely? I'd check how it looks with SAO off, and with shaders off (low settings) etc to see if the effect disappears at any point. If it does you have a better idea what could be causing this.

Well, I sorted out the walls so that they were thick enough but as I said, I was getting the same thing happening on the furniture. This is going to be sold so I had to find a solution that didn't involve changing the settings so I decided to split the Kitchen furniture out so that it was another entity. that sorted it out perfectly.

Thanks for everybody's advice on this, it helped a lot.
