It's a breakout styled game which the original was said to have been developed and published by Atari, Inc. It was conceptualized by Nolan Bushnell and Steve Bristow, influenced by the 1972 Atari arcade game Pong, and built by Steve Wozniak aided by Steve Jobs. I call this one "Darkanoid." I took the name from "Arkanoid" and added the "D" because of "Dark" Basic Pro. I wanted to go further with this (I still might as it is a fun game regardless of how old it is) creating more levels where each level starts out lower than the previous. I think that was how Arkanoid was created but I'm not sure now.

You can download the zip file below. It is 2.5 MB. The exe file is 7 MB. Enjoy -- or not (but I hope you like playing it). It can be addictive.

Addendum: I still have the source code if anybody is interested.

I remember starting with db pro back when I first looked into coding... I made a break out style game too and never figured out the angles so ended up with a ball that bounced randomly, wasn't quite what I wanted but still ended up being fun :p

I gave up coding shortly after as it was too difficult for me at the time but I'm glad I came back to it after a few years, now I have a much better understanding of it.

Recreating the classics is a great way to learn, I'd suggest gem matching game or something else small next.
P.s. for gem matching I generally use defined collision shapes and then check collisions rather than trying to work your way through in lines (which is actually how most people tend to suggest)... Much simpler and faster.

DB is a little out of date these days and I often have old programs that crash now Having the source code still helps of course, normally a re-compile on the later O/S will fix them. Not tried on Windows 10 though.
SPECS: Ryzen 1700 CPU. Nvidia 970GTX. 16 Gig Memory. Win 10.

@CoconutFrog, I have Win7 and it works fine. In fact, I still play it once in awhile. I haven't tried it on Win10 or anything in-between Win7 and Win10.
