So I went ahead and finally made a tutorial on how to get a different gun into GameGuru but using the default animations. I believe someone else did this as well but in case you can't find it here is my unscripted version of how i do it. I have some errors and trouble shooting was necessary to get it working but it works now and i find the troubleshooting to be good because it may help you fix problems.

Really helpful video, nice work, however just a quick question/warning ...

Is the holk.x file in your zip the same model that you got from Turbosquid?

If it is I would highly recommend removing it from here.

Royalty free doesn't mean you can redistribute it even if you change the format, it means you can use it in your projects as long as it's embedded in that project in such a way that it can't be directly reused, ie with GamaGuru the standalone models are encrypted so it's fine to use them for that, but with this project you can simply drag it out of the folder and reuse it.

Not sure why you're trying to move the UV's around and separate them, all you need to do is scale the whole UV to half and move it to the bottom right corner, then do the same with the actual texture for the gun_D.dds. You don't need to put them in the exact same location as the original colt texture, as long as none of the holk UV's are in the area that is used for the arms and hands you're good to go, the UV references in the model should do the rest.

Quick Tip:
- In Blender: to scale it to half all you need to do is highlight what you want to scale, then hit [S] [.] [5] [enter]
- In Blender: to move it to the bottom right corner perfectly once you have scaled it, highlight the UV's you want to move, then hit [G] [X] [5] [1] [2] [enter] then [G] [Y] [-] [5] [1] [2] [enter]

I would hardly call it too many buttons, it seems that way when you type it out like I did. But really it's intuitive and easy to understand. Fro example moving something.

press G then the direction(x,y,z) then how far you want to move it, then press enter to confirm

So in my example above ([G] [X] [5] [1] [2] [enter]) would move it 512 pixels in the X direction. It's as simple as that, and way easier and more accurate than trying to move it with the cursor and using menus for commands, I can pretty much model one handed while eating my lunch with the other hand because of Blenders shortcuts.

Plus, all the shortcut keys, in my eyes, aren't a reason not to use blender, as everything you can do via shortcut keys can be done via menus too just like other software (you can even set its controls to mirror 3DS Max or Maya), it's just that most of the tutorials out there tend to teach the shortcuts because they're just easier and quicker to use.
