Hi imothep85,

Edit: oops misread your post.

They are of course 6 separate faces in GG

In TG4 I use theses settings:
Back = 0,0,0
Front = 0,180,0
Left = 0,270,0
Right = 0,90,0
Up = 90,0,0
Down = -90,0,0

Hi all,
@GraPhix - yeah nice find. All the serches I have done for rendererd, and I never found that! Thanks

@JonRobbo
TG4 is a 3D scene rendering software. Used by the big guys for making awesome movies - Latest round of Star Wars movies for example.

TG4 - is awesome - don't be put off by the UI. I put off getting it for ages - now I wish I got it ages ago! There are some very easy to follow tuts out there, just force yourself to watch one and then off you go!

Vue was used to make Avatar. Nice UI, but more expensive and horrendous render times. I have it but dislike it and don't use it.

If budget is low you can get Bryce for about $20. Easy to use, but not much good for volumetric clouds unless you have a beast of a machine and plenty time on your hands.

you forgot to tell to the others TG4 is very very HEAVY, and SLOW at rendering HD scenes... i use tg4 from the begining tg1 , if you want hd renders you need renderfarms...

Hi imothep85,

I find TG4 renders much quicker that Vue and with far better results. Vue has more bells and whistles, but those things don't count in the end result. Terragen has a much better community behind it in my experience.

Also, Bryce is super easy to use, but anything volumetric is horrendously slow. TG 4 will render a volumetric image in the same time Bryce would render one with no volumetrics at all.

I would think unless you have a super machine, render farms are much easier, and not that expensive for simple stuff like skyboxes.

But this is all my experience with these tools We each have to find the tools that suit us best, and for sure the world of 3D art is all a trade-off
