I am making various models that are only visible from one side. I didn't want to put a back plain on the model to save polly count, and I use an invisible wall to stop player walking thru. The model is fairly detailed and has an over hang so I want to have no collision on it.

Problem is that the shadows don't cast properly.

Is there a setting to use in the FPE that will force the shadows to render, (I tried shadows = 1) or do I have to put a back plain on the model?

The problem is the way GameGurus basic entity shader renders, to detect something as solid it needs a front back plane at least 5 units apart, and it won't cast a shadow unless something is detected as solid.

Hi Belidos, yeah I thought that was the case.

It would be nice to be able to force the shadows somehow.

as it is, I have to have the back plane to make shadows work but the player will never see it, then I have an invisible wall to stop the player walking thru the model.

I guess it is still better than having complex collision for the main model, just seams a double up on polygons that no one will see
