Sorry, I must have missed the message. Either I was mid grind or afk for a minute in-between grinding, lol. I tend to get tunnel vision when I'm buffed and grinding. I'll have to add your alts and check that box; I saw it, but as I always saw the logoff message, thought it was set correctly. Not been earning huge amounts myself, just been concentrating on getting CH up, so I can get a better pet that's actually useful for something other than getting CH xp.

Not sure what smuggler brings to combat as such, but must be okay to be getting 200k per buff I don't really keep track, just make sure I pay my costs and get a bit on top. I could get higher missions I am sure now, but for CH xp no point.

Edit - Oh only really travelled Lok for resources and looking for Kimogilla's or what ever they were called Oh and Bounty Hunter missions led me there quite often I seem to remember.

To combat smuggler brings almost nothing, it has a pistol line, however that pistol line has no bonuses and a few crowd control pistol abilities which I don't use. What it brings to missions however is well worth it, smuggler x1xx allows you to slice mission terminals, this means the next mission you take will pay out considerably more than normal, usually about 30% I think going by what I have seen, you can slice a terminal every two minutes.

What I do when I'm farming credits:

1. Get buffed up (tip about 10k).
2. Head to Paradox: This is a city in the South East, it's an improved job market. so all the missions pay about 20% more than other terminals, it also has a terminal at the north, south, east, and west edge to save travelling time between missions, make a waypoint for each of these to make it easier to find.
3. Slice the terminal: This usually gives me mission that reward between 9k and 11k.
4. Take two NPC missions in the same direction (first one will be bigger reward due to slice).
5. Go Kill the NPC's and blow up their bases (I do NPC missions because there is only one spawn of NPC's per base, so you can burn the missions down quick, whereas you get three spawns of creature in creature missions and they take three times as long to complete).
6. Return to closest mission terminal and repeat.

For me with my skill level, these missions take about 2 minutes each, plus three to 5 minutes travelling time, and with the sliced payouts upward of 9k, and normal payouts of 5k to 6k, I can easily make between 50k and 75k an hour depending on how distracted by vendors I get and traveling times, a buff lasts just over 3hrs, so around 200k per session. If I was to really push myself and not get distracted by shinnies, I could probably push that to 300k per buff session.

and my skills so far aren't that great either, I have brawler 4xxx, Marksman x4x4, Scout 3x4x, Novice BE, Novice Pistoleer, and x11x smuggler. I also only really use two abilities, /rolldShot and /bodyShot2, roll shot puts you into a kneeling position to give you better defence and accuracy, and body shot target just the health bar, they go down in seconds.

At work, bored to death, wishing i could head home and play SWG, so decided to mess about with a bit of .php and ended up writing a signature image generator for star wars galaxies lol.

http://swgrp.co.uk/sig/swg/

You can choose the background image, your name, race, two professions, three lines of custom text, guild name, and you can change the fonts and font colours of them. It's pretty basic, only three backgrounds, and five fonts to choose form so far, not bad for a bored tea break lol

Here's an example of how it comes out (need to tweak the text locations a bit):

@ Honkeyboy. I'm on now Been grinding CH with my low level pets. just 3 boxes to go and I still don't earn more than 500 xp per kill, lol; and that was today. I can't believe I've managed to almost get master CH with pets that give me 200 xp a pop, I did the first 4 low tier boxes with 50. 500 today is way better, but 600 would be better still Just grinding on dantooine atm.

@ Belidos. Ah I though smuggler wasn't great for combat, just unlocking containers and making muon gold Your process sounds pretty close to what I'm doing apart from I'm not really concerned with the cash atm. I'm sure I can blast a good amount once I'm master CH. Probably have near a million between my main 2 toons anyway, lol. It all adds up. I've not splashed on much yet beyond transport, tips and training. Not that I've seen many decent armour or weapons vendors as yet. My marksman got a bit, didn't really help and even then I couldn't get a complete set as there were a few parts missing.

My other artisans cost a bit to keep up though, but I'm not in a major rush with those. I'll be happy when I get a Jedi

Oh, is Jedi perma-death in this now as per the original? Or is it more like the second iteration, where Jedi was weaker but didn't die?

With armour, you don't need a full set, wearing a full set will just reduce your ham and stats and not really give you much more defense. All you really need (especially grinding) is to cover the main areas; head chest, boots, gloves. You can buy 80% composite (for fighting npc's) with 66% in other resists, or 77% Ubese (for fighting creatures) with around 60% in all other resists for less than 50k credits a set, they list them in containers as "mini suits".

I was looking for some Ubese armour but all I could find was composite Seems to be the be and end all mainly. I always disliked that, thought it would be better for variety if you could make any armour up to a decent spec, given materials and skill levels. As is, everyone tends to wear comp or RIS (can't remember if RIS is better or not). Still TK tends to be okay even without armour as long as you don't attack anything too tough.

Just a little clarification on armour and why you only need to wear parts of it:

Quote: "What is a "Mini Suit"?

Because Trandoshans cannot wear gloves nor boots, it was necessary to come up with a system that allowed them to be fully protected by armor without hand or feet protection. However, simply allowing them to go without gloves or boots would have given them a huge advantage over other races. So the "Mini Suit" was born. In a "mini suit" the arm and hand armors were merged, with the requirement that only one piece of arm or hand armor need to be worn for the arm/hand armor to fully protect you. Then leg and foot armors were similarly merged, so only one of leg/foot armors need be worn to be fully protected. So a "mini suit" consists of:

One Head piece: Helmet
One Chest piece: Chest
One Arm/hand piece: Left Bicep, Right Bicep, Left Bracer, Right Bracer or Gloves
One Leg/foot piece: Leggings or Boots

Note: Ubesse Armor Jackets have both chest and arm protection. Wookie Armor also has pieces that cover more then one of the mini suit locations

Mini Suits vs Full Suits

Unless you are a Trandoshan, you can still choose to wear the additional arm, hand, leg and foot pieces. You will not gain any extra armor protection if you do, but you can spread the damage to your armor out over the extra pieces so those pieces will last longer without needing repair."

So basically, if you are wearing Ubese armour, all you need to wear to be fully protected is the head, chest and boots. Or, if you are wearing any other armour add gloves or a single arm piece. Wearing anything else is just reducing your secondary stats needlessly (strength, constitution, etc.).

Ah, good info. Not been checking here much the last few days. No idea why...lol. Although I must temper myself a little, I do not want to get into it as much as I used to be, else I will be on all the time, lol. Feeling unwell for the last few days has helped me tame my hours on it a little though, not the best way to pace myself but it has definitely curtailed my playing a fair bit.

Yeah, my pic wasn't the best though, I got visited mid fight lol. Was knocked off my speeder by a random attack (not paying attention to where I was going) then mid fight when I was realising the mobs were pretty tough, the old man walked up. I mean, bad timing dude lol. Thankfully still got the holocron though.

Oh he's the rich dude! lol guys moved to Talus i like it there always have good for c/h etc. doesnt it make you wonder about my post about content vs graphics both you two are semi hooked on a game that still uses flat decals see if GG had this kind of abuility to give players that kind of content it'd rock... e.g character creation, inventories, housing doesnt have to be multiplayer skill trees etc etc, doesnt have to be shiney either i find swgemu easy on the eye and so do a few thousand others btl of it
oh and just to add to this aparently when swg was re-written most of it is done in .lua !
lol thats why my new W.I.P has soo much content even i cant keep up lol i do like to push engines i just had to think of scripting like writing a macro
