Note .... Backup your EBE model before trying this

One thing totally unique to the EBE is it creates its own UV map once saved ... As far as I know there isn't any other program that can do this so here is a neat trick.... Once you have created your level / model you can remove the .ebe file which then leaves a standalone .dbo model.

Once you have this you can use the old " DBPro Model converter " to convert into a standard .X model complete with UV
Note ... It also converts the corner marker so this works well for internal levels but a House for example will always have the marker showing.
Even so I have found this very handy ..

I've played around with the saved maps and reduced the size by cutting away the unused textures.

Another possibility is to choose 16 textures for multiple structures and save them after creating the structures.
Then multiple structures will only use one texturemap.

Is the DBPro model converter still downloadable somewhere?

Is there a trick to get rid of the "axis ball" after changing isebe=0 in the .fpe?

It seems the ball is part of the non-ebe model and turns up even after saving the map as a standalone game.

I can try to give the ball a transparent texture but the player will still "stumble" over it and the AI could bet blocked....

After placing your structure with the axis, change isebe to its original setting so that the axispoint (ball) is not visible anymore.

that would work, but its too much of a chore if I want to create something with a dozen modular parts.

But I found a solution that works - at least for me: I simply changed the scale in the New Site.fpe from 100 to 1, now the ball is too tiny to be visible anymore.
