This is a quick player setup in game guru for when you want to quickly test your levels with extra lives, health, default gun and ammo. Just copy the zip files attached to you entitybank in the game guru files folder. No need to back-up as I have already included the original files with a filename change to include _bak. All files that are included will be located in the _markers folder once copied to the entitybank folder.
I have just made a quick You Tube to show the example below
The video will show the default player setup. Then after copying the files your need to restart game guru to get the new player setup. The new player marker will be a purple colour. This is to indicate the new player setup has changed. The player properties will be updated like in the example below:
Has Weapon - modern\colt1911
Ammo Quantity - 9999
Lives - 5
Health - 9999
The idea is to speed up scripting and level design. So if you are scripting and want to test your script very quickly but don't want to keep adding a gun, ammo, extra health, lives, etc. or your editor resets due to an error it will always keep this setup.
You may just want to test a new texture by resetting the editor to load new textures. This will keep your player settings each time unless you have changed them in the player properties.
You may want to change the player setup from time to time with either a new gun, ammo, etc. You can do this by just editing the file [ Player Start.fpe ] in the [ _markers ] folder under [ entitybank ].
Note: When you are done with beta testing. You may want to change this back to default setup. This can be done by deleting the new files and rename the old ones back to there default filenames by removing the [ _bak ] part of there filename.
Keep the zip file if you still want to use this option after a Game Guru update. Just copy the zip files over the new updated ones.
That's it guys.
