I have a serious problem with optimization.
I'm making a map for an online game, I reduced the viewing distance to go faster and the game is kept at 35 - 45 fps stable, it's ok.
But in the GG editor, the map goes to 30 fps and when I select a new object to place it on the map, the fps are reduced to 5.
It's not a computer problem, I'm playing btf4 in ultra and 1280x720 at 40 fps ...
I tried to lower the resolution of the screen, but the fps are almost the same.
Is there any way to optimize the editor? Maybe turn off the shadows or something so it runs faster.
It is so slow that I am forced to not advance in the project.

Needless to say, I have an amd a8 processor 7650k 3.3ghz, 12gb ddr3 1866 mhz and a gtx 1050.

Yes, there is a flag you can change in the SETUP.INI file called "disablesurfacesnap=0". Change this to "disablesurfacesnap=1" and save, then relaunch GameGuru and the entity placement will use a quicker technique when you are primarily placing things on the ground.

I've been having similar issues since getting my new system. Is this a new thing? I never had any real issues with my old Q6600 and so was not expecting the newer machine to run worse. It affects rotation as well as placement.

@Belidos : No affect on visuals, it just uses a more intense way to scan for any entity surface (so you can place paintings and things half way up walls).

Thank you Lee.
Now in the editor instead of having 5 fps when placing an object, keep going at 30 fps as it normally goes.

Yes, but in the same way you can manually place it at the height you want with the positioning system, or not?
