Concerning the latest cyber attack which is quite widespread and might cause even more chaos at daybreak, it is always good to have some extra protection.

Cryptoprevent is a free tool and prevents your files from being encrypted.

I believe ransomware protection only comes with the paid version of Crytoprevent and from what I gather most of this latest wave has been targeting XP systems.
