Hey Guys, it's been a while and I've been of the radar for some time. Yesterday I started to work on Hunted 2. I had some ideas about the story and I really hope I can finish it. There are some challenges with the game in general. I hope i can improve myself with this project and all aspects of it. In terms of story telling, level design and atmosphere.

The feeling of my deleted project "secluded" was too good for not being further developed, so I decided to bring it back.
Completely build from scratch and even with recomposed music ( wich I also lost because of reinstalling windows ).

This project is going to take a while and I want to share my thoughts and work here with you guys!

Thats all I got at the moment - there is more to come:

____________________________________________________________________________________

This is a first look at the start level in hunted 2. The player starts in his flat. He just moved in recently, so there are many crates around.

_______________________________________________________________________________________

changed the fog in the outdoor level - this is the result:

_______________________________________________________________________________________

27.5.2017

Okay, this is the entire state of game by now, the other level will come in eventually. Please tell me what you think! This happens after you press "start" in the main menu - THIS, is how the game starts. First 3 minutes so to speak.
Unfortunately my recording software hates me and the video is a bit delayed with the sound.. its about 1 second. Hope it doesnt bother to much!

Modder, Soundtrack Composer and now Game Developer. Well, sort of.

Good start! I like the sense of place you have created, and the soundtrack is nice and atmospheric.

A few points for improvement, and these are mostly down to my personal taste, but I'd get the blend tool out and blend some of those jagged edges down as they look a bit unnatural. Also, the fog density seemed a little high in comparison to your skybox so either bring that down a bit, or edit your skybox textures and lower the contrast/add some fog of the same colour.

Look forward to seeing how this progresses

Thanks for the hints! I agree on your points and will improve it. The level is far from being finished and the jagged edges are the first thing I will change

good that you develop a part 2 of your game
for the fog and sky, you should find matching colors.
a blue sky with orange fog, hm no. better use a blue/grey color style or another skybox

I enjoyed the first Hunted, or rather, I enjoyed sitting back and watching my son play through it. I'll be watching this and looking forward to more. Looking great so far. Keep at it!
I tried to sign it but all I did was mess up my screen.

I gotta be honest, usually when I see these vague, text only teasers I think "oh! Screw you!" but this one was actually pretty intriguing and well made.
It was also not longer than it had to be. Good job.

This game looks AMAZING! Wow, I love the music and everything about the whole game so far. Very Creepy. But? Are you going with that statue? I've seen that model used before. This game Hunted 2, I have a feeling? You will need a few pairs of clean undies while playing.

The atmosphere is certainly there again but I don't know it its the best way to go to just have these giant wood levels. Maybe have them a bit more linear for performance sake??

The only real problem I still see is how you shaped some of the terrain. It can really use some work.

Your sound and ambience is extremely well done here!

Yeah you're right. Might redo the level again.
Wood Levels are not the best way at the moment but I just need them so badly.^^ Maybe I can come up with something more performance-friendly..

Could you be more specific about the terrain? Like what area needs work? I dont know what you mean exactly... the whole map?

Simply don't make them so huge with such a wide view distance? Think about it, up until recently the vast majority of action or adventure games where you could enter a forest where very linear and restrictive for the player.

Yes! The least compelling thing about your map are all instances of late 90s terrain going on. Those areas really need work to go with the otherwise well made level.
I attached a screenshots where its painfully obvious to see.

In China you see such mountains and rock formations, but I guess your game is not based in China...
The old Opel Corsa is a little bit small, maybe scale him up a bit. Also maybe use a higher res. ground texture.
Hm... I should edit my ground textures too... but I'm lazy... I know...
