Now that I got reading the release notes from the last few months, I am starting to wonder how some of these new AI related items work ... for example the Floor Zone Marker ...

I did a search on the forum but did not find any hits when looking for "Floor Zone" or "Floorzone" ...

Any help would be appreciated ...

Cheers,
Fendrik

Thanks ... not sure that I got it all straight (especially the placement of the Floor Zone Marker), but I'm up and running ... well, or at least the AI is

I'm still getting wonky behaviour from AI on elevated surfaces, dropping through, running on the spot, not chasing, despite Lee's videos and explanations. I'm also having an absolute nightmare getting the floor zones on to the level I want them on when I use multiple level models, the points just drop to the floor if I try to move them.

@Belidos : Do you want to make a very small video showing the most basic use of Floor Zone and an AI character, to demonstrate the most important issue you have, and we can go from there, thanks.

Sure, i'll try to do it tonight when i get home. The issue isn't happening with a building with a two levels, i can put them up there no problem, it's when there is a second roof, or a third level, i can't seem to get it to go up to the third level, i can get the zone up there, but the slightest adjustment and the points drop down to the level below.

I haven't been able to do a video, not sure why but my broadband isn't liking uploading videos at the moment.

The issue with places the markers, is that when you put them down, you can get them to snap to the second or third floor fine, but if you try to adjust the points they drop to the ground and you cant get them back up. That's not a major issue because I can work around that by placing them on the ground, sizing them, then extracting them and hitting page up while hovering over the floor.

However, here's an FPM that is showing some other issues with AI and multiple level buildings. Notice how the first soldier just does not want to go up those stairs, and when he does he won't go into the little room/ Also notice how the second soldier actually spawns in a different location to where he is placed, and he also won't go in that room. Also note how long it takes for the first soldier to react, and the fact that the second soldier won't react until you are super close, or fire a shot, he also tends to bounce up and down the stairs without going anywhere else about half of the time.

(the FPM uses the building from the death valley dlc, and stock uber soldiers)

@Belidos, I tried your FPM and didn't get any of the behaviour you described. Do you have vsync on or off? I have it on.
Been there, done that, got all the T-Shirts!
