Question 1- I tried using retexturing the Galaxy seed model (the spinning holographic star map) but the model is losing the partial transparency and appearing solid during the retexturing process. I've tried assigning a image with a transparent background to the _D.dds file. Is there a specific code that needs to be added to the .fpe file or am i missing something else?
Question 2- Also i am wanting the ray tracing to be that the model does not cast a shadow, is that possible?

Hi,
Not able to look at those files atm, but hope this sends you in the right direction:

Transparency -
- you would need an alpha channel in your texture - use that to set how transparent it should be
- white is solid, black is completely transparent, so a grey somewhere in between for the desired transparency
- save as DDS using DXT5 compression for transparency to work.

Shadows -
- would need to be turned off in FPE
- should be a line in there like castshadows or something - try setting to 0, 1, or -1

Off the top of my head so hopefully it is correct and useful to you

Thanks for the reply. How do i select DXT5 compression? I am using GIMP.

How is it possible to disable shadows in fpe specifically for one entity? I have checked the fpe file and castshadow is already set to 0.

Hi all
tommy8, Sorry at work atm so can't give much detailed answer but if you do a search on 'gimp', it comes up with a number of threads about the plugin needed for gimp to export to dds.

And Unfamallia did some modelling tuts (sticky in 3RD Party Models and Media thread) that explain exporting a dds file using gimp.
