Hi all

Not sure if this is a bug or my setup has gone awry.

I just noticed that there are no footfall sounds on terrain even in a new map.

Is anyone else getting same.

So is nobody else seeing this issue.

Footfall sounds used to be louder.

I just performed a reinstall on my system - and all footfalls are very quiet - not just terrain but also on floors and the like. I have to crank the volume up real high to here it, but everything else is, well, real loud then.

When the volume is at a reasonable level, so weapon shots, or door sounds, and the like are not ringing my ears out, I can hear the jump/woosh sound when pressing space as normal, but not footfall sounds.

Yeah, true.

Walking on terrain has always been a little quiet, but walking on floors with metal or concrete sfx used to be fine.

But for me it is much worse since the new 16 Texture Terrain update.

it's definitely quieter than it used to be, perhaps something in the new player control system means it's not returning the same values now that it has been converted

Yeah, something has changed.

I used to be able to hear footfall sounds on terrain and hard surfaces even with ambient background sound, like wind, rain, music.

Having no footfall sounds really detracts from the overall feel of the level.

Hey guys I just noticed this issue today. I'm not hearing my player character walking on the various terrains. I recall there being new features related to footfall. How do you control or modify them?

Apparently there is a short cut to change this using the 16 terrain tile window?? Can someone please confirm this and let us know how to do this... I'm exhausted of trying work arounds for everything please.
