Hi all, I'm having a couple of issues in H.E.Trooper whereas if I scope enemy ai it just walks on the spot, if I get closer it moves toward the player and shoots, so I'm kind of presuming its a distance check issue, is there a way I can script into the ai_soldier.lua to increase the range of when it will react to the player?
Thanks

and a well fed mouse on a wheel

I only smile because i have absolutely no idea whats going on

Try changing always active to yes, there is a 3000 unit limit on how far the AI will run to help with memory usage, so that might help.

if I do that m8 I have to relay all the ai as new builds with this version don't pick up fpe changes and man it took me all day to do it the other day i'd much rather do it in the script if I can that way its instant. surely it can be done in the ai_soldier script? they do attack you if your up close just if you shoot them with your scope = further away they just walk on the spot = not even trying to track the shot down or maybe they are but they are stuck. p.s m8 this isn't even the sniper rifle now so you have to be closer. couldn't a distance check be added to the script to see the player at a longer distance?
N.B these are 28.2.17 scripts so not the new ones I carnt update because of a c++ runtime error scripts included

You don't change it in the fpe, you change it in properties (well you can change it in the fpe, but it's also in properties)

If it is because of the 3k active limit, then you can't do it in a script, you have to change it in the properties or the fpe.

Just try one and see if it works, then you know if it's that or not.

It might not be that, it might be something else that can be scripted, but it sounds like what happens if they're out of the 3k range, and its worth trying.

This is what I get, the soldier is at 3k, first test he doesn't respond, second test I turn always active on and he responds:

p.s. there's no R in can't
