It may be that the standalone process didn't copy a terrain texture over, it happens now and again, locate the correct texture in your terrain folder (i forget the name of it) and copy it into the equivalent folder of the standalone, then run it and see if it worked.

have you changed the default grass texture? I have not tried creating a standalone yet but it looks as though your textures have not copied to your standalone folder

ive uploaded image so other users can see

I think it will be the one in Slot 5 which is Grass_D.png

Thanks for the answers.

@Belidos, in the standalone there are all the textures.

I solved by installing the Build of 2017-03-10.

The game also works with the build 2017-03-29.
Is it a bug of the build 2017-03-31 ?

You can also try the Public Preview build on Steam which also fixes this issue.

I am having this problem too with my standalone games. I have even tried making a standalone version of some test games GG comes with, and the terrain textures are all black. I lightmapped, and copied (all) of the files from "terrainbank" over to the standalone folder and it doesn't work. I don't know how to downgrade my current version. I have the latest version from steam. Any ideas?

@LeeBamber
Thank you. Even with version "Public Preview build" there is not the texture bug.
Unfortunately, the loading time of a standalone game (4/5 Entities) and Game Guru become very very long ( > 2', normal 30"/40"). (Bug?)

I am having the same problem! Tried adding a couple of light markers in the level and fiddled with the visuals in the game standalone folder and in the editor! The only thing I got was little better after pushing up Fog intensity and distance.....

Are you using the 'public preview' version from Steam, as this should solve the black terrain issue. There was a report that discovered a user quit out of GameGuru before the new terrain plate had finished being generated for the new system so that could be the cause. To resolve this scenario, go into the terrainbank\lush folder and delete any texture_D / texture_N files you find then re-run, go to test game and select LUSH terrain and let it generate the texture plate fully (may take a minute) and then your terrain texture should appear.
