This is not just playing a game, This is developing a game and the requirements are a bit higher.

Send me a link to your map file in my PM and I will open it up and see how it acts on my machine.
Did you change any of the terrain textures?

Sounds like you have permission issues at your end, you're the first person to ever report that GameGuru's save doesn't work, are you running GameGuru in administrator mode?.

navigate to your Gameguru folder, find the GameGuru icon and right click it, go to the compatibility tab and tick the run as administrator box, that might help with the saving issue.

Ah, I see, it is a stand alone build, not a map file.

I have all gameguru EXE files run as administrator:

GameGuru.exe
Guru-Lightmapper.exe
Guru-MapEditor.exe

I think the last two applications are called by GameGuru.exe so I have elevated those aswell

I see the same as you did when I ran the standalone build.

I am opening the FPM file withing to see what I can see.

I see it wrote the terrain pallet textures, but I also see the Lush terrain bank in there also.

Reboot your machine please.

I am able to open your map file and all the media is there.
I can save it as a new map name and reload the map.

I am going to run test game on it, save it, and then build a stand alone of it, and retest that one.

OK, now i've seen this, am i right in saying that your problem isn't that it's not saving the fpm, but it's is that it's not saving all of the files when building a standalone?

There are various reason why this would happen, the most common one is that some of the entities have multiple textures, GameGuru will only copy to standalone the texture listed in its .fpe file, multitexture models don't have this in their .foe file because all the texture references are built into the model itself, so gameguru won't copy them to standalone. Likewise, any script or audio file that is called via a script directly instead of being placed in an entity in the editor will not copy over.

Ok, this is what I see in test game which is fine, but I did notice some anomalies when I went to the trees.

Wondering if you light mapped, then changed the terrain?

That one is baked lighting. Notice how the shadows are looking like there was a hill there.

That one is real time lighting. Notice how the shadows are on the ground where they belong.

Apparently this is an issue.

On my machine in standalone build, your map and one of my own with custom terrain sculpting shows this terrain textures as very dark or black.

Looking into this more.

@Mitthrawn : I have released an update via Steam Public Preview and Beta which now correctly loads the terrain texture when loading the game as a standalone (and for multi-level games and custom terrain texture plates too). If this does not fix the issue, see if you can create a very small FPM which exhibits the same issue (not using expansion or DLC assets), just stock core ones and feel free to email the FPM file to me with a step by step what I should do to see the issue, what you expected and what you are seeing instead, thanks. You can post the FPM here as I will be in a meeting tomorrow and it's likely the community will solve your issue before I get back to it, but will be here all Wednesday to continue helping any way I can.
