Hi guys
Suddenly I've got steam app telling me I have not GG installed, using time counter reset to 0, dlc as non installed, GG properties options are grayed out (disabled), however I can run GG from steam, GG work as usually.

Still I'm not able to run GG out of steam (getting runtime error).

Now Steam is downloading myworld, I know it can re-start dowload, but I prefer to wait till done, to do something about, like reinstall steam.

What should I do?

I imagine you have tried to verify files? Rebooted? Never seen this, thankfully, so not entirely sure what is going on.

I haven't had this issue, although a few weeks back, Steam was acting kinda funky for me, although I think it was because I was opening and closing the same programs (Fuse and GG) on both my laptop and desktop, sending files from one to my network drive and then to the other machine. Steam didn't seem to like that very much, like it couldn't keep up with what I was doing. Rebooting fixed it, though; had to do it several times over the course of the day. It's been a while since I've installed Steam, but I wonder, can you uninstall the Steam client and reinstall it without affecting the apps you already have, or do you have to go through the tedious and painstaking task of reinstalling everything?

Maybe a drive letter has change like they do sometimes plugging USB drives in and out, and steam can't find the installed folder for Game Guru.

On the main Steam page click on steam top left then setting then downloads after that click on STEAM LIBRARY FOLDER Then add the folder were Game Guru is installed.

Maybe this will help.

Not chance for verify files, just the button for start GG, and some button labeled "install", Don't know install what?
Install GG again?, why? GG is working right, and I'm not steam fan. Installing GG in desktop takes for awhile; would be nice having the chance to choose what you want to install, since I already has the file folder, so just download GG would be fastest and less tedious.

And the most amazing for me, it looks like I'm the only one forced to start GG from steam; can live with the above issue, but beind FORCED to do something ,is my kriptonita.

I'll wait a bit, just in case was the steam server issue.

Thanks you all for the tips.

If you have to reinstall then at least that's safe.

Downloading GG again.
I can not understand how steam does not recognize GG as installed program.
Steam should categorized GG as 3d game engine, and not as simple game.

The fact is than there is not another way to get, the GG updates.

I had a similar issue a few months back where 5 or 6 Steam games/apps we showing as uninstalled.. It turned out to be an issue with Windows. I had to run a system recovery. I don't know if you've got the same issue.

Steam doesn't categorize GG as a game, it's listed under software.

Guys I must admit that I took a lot of time to talk, steam has recognized GG as installed, and this is working ok again.

Quote: " It turned out to be an issue with Windows. I had to run a system recovery. I don't know if you've got the same issue."

I'll give a try, so something should cause it, is fixed now, but maybe the cause is out there.

It looks like last windows updates misconfigured, and stopped at the middle of the download, this causing amoung others, than myself being unable to restore system to an safe point, before the issue. Always I try restore, it tell no possible to apply restore point, I've tried with many as same results.
The suggested way is downloading the update yourself and install manually, I've tried but it say this update is not applicable to my machine.
That's the automatic updating system issues.

Thanks for the tips guys.

I used to avoid using steam to free up resources, but i've found there's a few things that don't work without steam running, ie downloads (obvious one), and the model uploader always crashes if i don't have steam running, no idea why, so now i run it anyway, it's not as if my rigs so weak i need the extra resources lol..
