Hello,

With optimism, today I wanted to try out this latest build of GG. Fired it up and within 2 minutes found:

1) No modern weapons available anymore.
2) Can't choose a weapon in the "Player Start" marker preferences.
3) Placed a previously made 3d character in "Character Creator" as new 3rd person player option to test and it crouches with no weapon.
4) Tried to create a new player - weapons available - NO.
4) Also, the above character will not die when attacked by Zombies.
5) Zombies just stop attacking the player after a while and the player can walk around them unharmed.

What is going on? Are others having these issues?

Not feeling great about GG at all at this point.

Your parental controls are active. Go to the menus and in one of them is an option to toggle parental controls on and off, choose that, the override code is 9119

I'm getting the same , I toggled parental controls and it made no difference and AI are sliding here, Zombies get bored or he just couldn't make his mind up whether he was dead or not

Well....here we go again it seems! "RESTRICTED CONTENT MODE". If this is indeed the problem I want to let you know I can't put in the 9119 code AGAIN! GG will not allow me to enter ANY password at all. As I wrote in a previous post (22-12-06) I had to reinstall GG after a system crash. At that time, I did not know what GG protocol was requesting to activate/ allow "R" content as I did not recall putting in a code on first installing GG.

*** Belidos you were nice enough and told me to use the override code 9119 at that time and GG worked fine.

I see no feature in GG as to if parental control is ON or OFF which I said was/is a design flaw. Then for whatever reason, a number of you all broke into song about "War Games".

So now here I am .....Again, where is this mysterious parental control menu if not under "HELP"?

Am I to assume RESTRICTED content is on because of no modern Weapons! That's not good enough feedback. GG should clearly show ON/OFF in the "RESTRICTED CONTENT MODE".

More importantly, how do I NOW get back full control of GG as it appears I am locked out.

Go to the main Game Guru folder and delete all the parental... files. Should be 3 of them. Restart Game Guru.

UPDATE:

Seems this update reset GG Parental Control.....

1) OK, typed 9119 code in...THE simple problem is/was THERE IS NO VISIBLE FIELD indicating a TYPING BOX. Please be aware how something as small as this again causes FEEDBACK problems. No one would literally know there was a typable field if the ***** did not start to appear after beginning to type. Realy, just put in a VISIBLE field rather than blended into the grey background colour. (I don't think this is too much to ask.)

2) Yes, I can confirm the previous poster (arfur9) Zombie slide around others ie Barbarian slide around and don't even appear to walk around anymore. At least Barbarians will kill you!

3) Zombies don't kill you! They just slide around and stop. If you stop you can just look at each other and listen to Zombies vocalise.

With the issue of the characters, try changing their scripts to the new AI ones in scriptbank/AI, I was having issues with the soldier characters not working and noticed they are using the old AI scripts, when I changed them to the new ones in the AI sub folder they started working again. Maybe it's the same with the zombie and barbarians etc.

Edit: Actually ignore the above, the ai scripts in the base folder are the new ones, the ones I have in my ai folder (apart from the new core files) are ones I already had in there, for some reason the soldier one I already have works better in the new system than the new scripts lol.

I just verified my install and lost all the textures on my EBE house and the AI still run around like Bitch Stewie
The zombies have amazing eyesight, if I place a bunch of them at the top of the screen and the start position at the bottom, by time the game loads they have covered over half the distance
They totally avoid EBE stairs here, I'm not seeing the super cool stuff Lee posted apart from they run around like they are on speed
Anyway, I'm going to see if I can fix my house, gutted about that

I agree. very confusing for no reason.

Obviously the AI needs some more work, but Johnny goes up the stairs and down again after a scaring him.

Put down some simple EBE stairs on an open patch to test waypoints and other gameplay scenarios.

1) Zombies (confirmed also) have super visibility or whatever you want to call it - They will reach the player before you even have a chance to react. Obviously, something seems to be wrong with initial spatial settings between player and zombies. Super speed also a problem in my build.

2) I found Zombies will not follow waypoints. (Possibly not scripted for this? A member pointed me to custom scripts so I know it is possible.)

3) Zombies tested did not go up stairs they just stand at the foot of EBE stairs. (Can someone test a building in the normal assets and report on this for Zombies?)

3rd person View: Sniper M700, Shotgun tested Characters:

3D Character will not face/ follow cross hairs so an entire play scenario this way is really strange at this point.

1) When looking down/around from EBE stairs from elevated vantage point killed Zombies disappear. (I guess you don't get the satisfaction of seeing your carnage in GG as the mop up crew is better than in the movie Passengers.)

I created an enemy soldier to fight.

2) Inconsistent AI - Stopped fighting me after 3-4th test of games.

Hello,

Please clarify "stock media". 3rd person character is from "Character Creator". Soldier tested was also generated in "Character Creator" given either Sniper m700 or Shotgun.

Zombie: Male Zombie Office.

The pictured - "Maze" was EBE created. Pictures here show static scenes of issues which I am reading on the forum a lot of people are having, not just me with this build.

Picture 1 is the general map. (More complex than my original test with two stairs and a few walls.)
Picture 2 show Zombies that came out of the Maze in 0.1 seconds flat, slid around, attacked then froze in place.
Picture 3 illustrates an Enemy in the fray who arrives in 0.4 seconds or so, slides around and gets "stuck" - Fused to the player.
Picture 4 shows how problematic 3d person view can be with EBE in that the weapon goes through the EBE wall.

Given the time I have, I will see about videos showing the mentioned AI problems.

Stock media is any of the entities that were in the entitybank when you first installed, all the free models.

Primary Desktop:

Well,

Ok, I understand stock media as those loaded: Example: Characters - > Fantasy -> Medival -> Zombies. I have been using the last two for some testing. Plus a combination of Characters generated in "Character Creator". I also have the expansion packages....Egyptians -> Freaks -> Middangeard -> Sci-Fi -Viral Outbreak -> Zombie Apocalypse. (Yet to retry them in this build). I recall trying them when I first got them with success on a simple lanscape.

Attached, is another picture of a more simplistic build I am trying. Again, zombies will reach 3d person player super fast. Barbarian seems to have stopped sliding.

While trying to record this to get rid of the hash contrast I went into F9 - Terrain Mode / E - Entity mode all was fine. Except, one time the 3D person players eyeballs were visible.

More importantly, when I hit TAB for lighting effects....ex: The gameplay did not stop! Zombies rock in place. The Barbarian character I put in pummeled you to death - He is not even on target and still kills you looping to infinity in the TAB mode matrix. (3rd person player and Barbarian are now excellent fighting actors as they don't even seem to connect and you die.) So I don't know what's up with that.

Anyone experiencing GG not stopping/continuing to run in TAB game matrix mode settings mode?

Will need to get back to this...strange 2017-02-28 GG build.

Not quite sure what you mean there, but TAB or TAB TAB shouldn't stop the game.

Yeah the game isn't suppose to stop in TAB mode. Only in F9 mode is it suppose to stop.

Yeah the game isn't suppose to freeze in TAB mode. Only in F9 mode is it suppose to freeze.

Well, thanks Lee for taking a personal interest in this link. I can see you are working on the glitches over the last two days.

As you said they should resolve themselves in time.

I am posting a link to two videos I created:

One video is of gameplay still running in the TAB setup matrix. Some people here are saying it is normal and should do this. I would think pressing Tab 2x stopped gameplay. Seems odd to me this "battle mode" is going on in the background as I don't remember it being an issue before I signed on to GG in October 2016.

The second is just a sparse level that shows glitches in Zombie AI, Freezing/sliding/fusing and other strange effects - Zombie Manager, Desert Solder, The "Enemy" soldier was created in "Character Creator"....all stock scripts settings. You can see the 3RD person view is problematic and has quite a way to go...falling through stairs and such weapon through walls. Hope this helps.

Looks like a pretty old version of the AI. Much tweaked since then. I will be uploading a new Preview build later this evening (maybe an hour) so you can check it out to see if the video issues you recorded are still present. If you find any, send the FPM level with the new video so I can quickly reproduce and fix, thanks for taking the time to make the vids!

At firts glance, improved made to module_combatcore.patrol work best than before, at least zombies on my map does not going thru walls to get the shortest way.

Stopping Gameplay with TabTab would make no sense. You can view your FPS with it and test if different graphic settings change the performance of - gameplay. This would not work without running gameplay.

I think Tab-Tab should freeze the AI at least.

For development and test game, give yourself extra health (10000), while you play with the tab tab settings.
I can see the need for a AI moving around to be able to check lighting on there spec and reflections.

I can imagine that this would be a nightmare for scripters.

I think if you ramp up the debug slider in their to 100 it stops them moving.

I will recheck this.

Edit.
Sliding this up used to be more sensitive then it is now.
But at 100 they will get in your face, but can not hurt you in Tab Tab mode.
Slider it back to zero, and then their attack routine kicks in again.
