Hi all just thought i'd show you how I've Learned to do this so you guys using Fuse and those that might get a heads up, firstly if this is in the wrong place mods please feel free to move it.
Second : I'm not used to tutorials so please bare with me
Ok here we go

I used Anim8or for this as its free and easy to use but you can use any other modelling package to do it as long as it supports .obj

1/ open fuse create a character, no clothes just the basics, goto the menu and import it out as an .obj (pic1)
2/ select all the parts you don't want using wireframe and delete them (pic 2)
3/ adjust the parts left (in this case the hand and abit of the arm to make a glove) (pic 3)
4/ save the gloves you have made as an .obj (pic4)
5/Cut the gloves, re import the character and paste bringing the gloves back into play (pic 5)
6/line up the gloves and the character , select all and re lay the character in it original position (use the x,y arrows) (pic6)
7/delete the character leaving just the gloves and export out as an .obj
8/ return to fuse and import clothing, choose the correct directory e.g gloves in this case and just next it will import the .obj (pic7)
9 / rebuild your character in fuse and add you newly crated item.(pic8)
then you can add your textures with fuse and import it out with the clothing attached
you can do this with any part of the fuse models body and if you want to make say hats or capes just follow the same instructions add it to the imported model and out again, I'm not very good at Tuts but I hope this helps you guys a little , any questions feel free to ask
sry forgot with gloves you have to mirror the image to get both (pic9) shows the complete item I don't usually add clothing with these heros as you can just paint the skin to give a heroish spandex look but play around till you get what you want

and a well fed mouse on a wheel

I only smile because i have absolutely no idea whats going on

Not bad mate, thanks for that.

It's a very basic guide though, there's a lot more to it than that, for example you can use material groups to define different areas to different materials and colours, and so on, but it's a great start, well done for posting.

I would suggest practising with Honkeyboys method, and then when you feel more confident, take a look at this guide:

https://community.mixamo.com/hc/en-us/articles/203829146-Creating-Custom-Content-for-Fuse

and downloading the content creators pack, which gives you templates to use:

https://www.mixamo.com/store/#/account/software?selected=fuse_content_creator
(you will need an account on mixamo)

Just use Fuse materials m8 and cheers not very good at tuts lol bit beyond me tbh but if it helps its gotta be a good thing did you get it? check the last pic, once the items are in Fuse you can add whatever material you like, after that e.g say the cape I just open up the texture and add a symbol or whatever I've made Backpacks and Jetpacks etc etc its pretty easy once you get the hang of it. actually tho m8 there isn't more to it that's it I did it as I was doing it if you follow those instructions it'll work the only issue sometimes is lining the item up so keep your modelling editor open to adjust up and down etc. It really is as easy as ive posted

This is what I mean about it being very basic.

You can choose the material inside fuse, but you can only have one material per clothing item if you do it with your method.

However Fuse has a nifty feature where you can assign areas of the mesh as separate material groups when you make the model, so when you import it into Fuse you can then assign each group to a material, for example with the glove, you could use a different material and different colour for each finger etc.

This is what makes Fuse so special. The same clothing mesh could be a medieval cloak or a modern day business suit!

Not tested that m8 but think you can as this is a fuse model part just adjusted to make another item. will have a look at that tho altho this isn't intended to get too technical just to get people able to make new clothing for their fuse models (kinda was just trying to help out)

I think its great and might inspire some people to get started with Fuse. While there are a lot of possibilities with the default assets, there can never be too many!

Thing is you can actually just import the fuse model after exporting it as a .obj and then design what you want to fit it (this kinda was my point) you then can line it up to fit , delete the fuse character, export it out and it goes straight into fuse. that is what I was trying to get out here yes you can cut the fuse model up but also you can use it to model your own gear p.s Belidos m8 I find the fuse way abit confusing lol I like my way plus they have like 1 shirt wth can I do with that? ( check it out m8 download the content creator its pants!) you cannot design anything more than a t shirt!
