Sure. I can notice the difference, with my laptop all was going to slow, framecount insane, post effects simply forbidden, entity hights nooooor (5 fps), and so on.

You don't need to spend big money to have a nice machine, all depends on where you are and who you know, my new machine cost me a little over half what he paid :p

@Belidos I know you don't have to spend a lot to get a decent machine, I am in the process of building my own and I think the total will be half to 2/3 rds that price, but as you say it depends on where you are and who you know.
