Hello!

I've always figured that the boards are listed in a very odd order. The Product chat board is on top, where it should be, but then its followed by 4 comparatively uninteresting boards. First of, it does not make a good first impressions to have these relatively inactive boards so high up and second of all even if they where more active I'd still say that its in an odd order.

My suggestion would be: In this order:

Product Chat
Third Party Tools
3rd party models and media
free models and media
scripts
work in progress
showcase
competitions (if we keep this board)
bugs
virtual reality (if we keep this board at all)
feature creep

I'm not sure what to do with the store boards but they should be way down the list.
Alternatively, you can have w.i.p. and showcase right after product chat because it shows directly what people do with game guru...but I do get a feeling
that users in general are browsing what kind of media and tools are new/free more frequently.

I also believe that the site would make a better impression this way.

An other thing I'd like to throw out here: Maybe modernize the banners with more attractive screenshots? As I've said before "we don't have AA" is not necessarily the best first impression.

This reflects only my opinion, I've been thinking this for a long time now and figured I'd throw it out there.

Agreed, would suit the site better.
Look at how many posts/threads and base the order on that.
Haven't really checked your (@Wolf) list, but i think it is right in which order is needed.

I would even place the Closed Beta Thread close after the Product Chat.

I pretty much agree, although my order would be slightly different, I would have Showcase and Work in Progress higher up, we need to show new users what GameGuru can do, so having it at the top would help that.

Product Chat
showcase
work in progress
Third Party Tools
3rd party models and media
free models and media
scripts
competitions (if we keep this board)
bugs
virtual reality (if we keep this board at all)
feature creep

As to the store links, in my opinion they should just remove the board and put in links, also they really need to make it clear that the store is not part of TGC, because at the moment if Jason makes a mistake (highly unlikely, he's doing a great job, but still .. ) it would be TGC that would get the bad press and/or flack from it, we really don't want the chance of more ammunition in the quiver of the haters. Maybe they should change the links to the store front to "sanctioned third party store" or something.

To be really honest, this is something that needs to be changed soon. I've noticed a LOT of posts in the product chat that should not be there lately, i'm fairly sure it's probably mostly because people don't scroll down the page and don't realize the other forums sections are there.

I am looking at the ordering of boards and will look at all your suggestions to see what we can do.

As for the store it is still treated as the official GameGuru store and is contracted to be as such. As a result the links will remain as they are. I work with TGC to keep a good relationship between GameGuru and the store they are linked in many ways that mean we have a good trusting relationship for the foreseeable future.

The store boards will be converted to links so users can still find where they should post regarding store questions.

I'd also agree with Belidos that giving the actual games more spotlight would be a good choice.
