I was looking at another thread for the Trials of a Wizards Apprentice I think its called and a quickly did a texture for him, and I remembered were the wood came from
The wood texture was done with this program , Wood Workshop
Its a great program if you're not bothered about photo real

Wow, this board has been like a trip down memory lane; thanks for the link! I liked Wood Workshop, it used to be available on TGC. Looks like they have some decent looking seamless textures on their site as well.

Another fun utility was Texture Maker. Don't know if that's still around. Perhaps I'll look around for it later.

EDIT: Wow, it's still around but hasn't been updated in a decade. They are also asking a lot more for it than I paid originally!

its quite good for toon wooden floors

yes have it myself great program.
i also use genetica studio version.
you can still get wood workshop and the viewer
and some nice texture packs on the site,
you can create some nice textures and environment maps with genetica,
including animated textures and decals in a packed square .
