i got this fire hose box model and it suposed to have a glass on front in the dds file ise the transparency to 49% and it produces this phenomenon if i pud the transparency in the dds file above 50% ignores completly the transparency is full transparent
Also none of the transparency settings in fpe file doesent seem to make any kind of diference.
These occurs if i set it to to entity_basic.fx if i set it to character_basic.fx it seems to work ok

Transparency on models is very tricky.

1. the dds has to be saved in a certain compression format, I think it's DXT5
2. the transparency in the fpe needs to be either 3 or 5 (I forget which)
3. you need to set the ocluder and ocludee settings to no in the entity properties

Sometimes the modelling process itself can effect this too, sometimes you need to make the face that is to be glass last, so basically build the model, then build the glass bit.

Sometimes it just doesn't work so it's best to have the glass as a separate model.

i5, NV960 2GB, 16GB memory, 2x 2TB Hybrid, Win10.

I had a similar issue with a model I was working on. I ended up doing that. No matter what I tried the model wouldn't show the inside through the glass properly. Even as a separate object it has some odd quirks. Still awaiting an answer for this one myself.

I think dxt5 to be use for compund ojects, like a windows (frame+glass), where you want just the glass being transparent, or semi.

Not pretty sure, but I think "cullmode = 1" might help.
