Ok so I started this a few days back but got distracted ...
Then Lee released the EBE so I finished it off this morning anyway ..
The idea was to show how you could take advantage of the EBE even if you didn't see a use for it because you create your own buildings and assets in other model programs...

Yeah i agree, if you can model your own stuff it's still useful when making levels, i dind't think i would be using it before i saw it, but i'll very likely be using it to make internal scenes, just because it's easy to use, i love that you can use your own sets of textures with it to make it your own, for external stuff i'll still be making my own models though.

One tip i would offer, is when you build with it (if you're creating FPS with ceilings that is) is to add 5 rows above the walls before adding a ceiling, i've found that 100 units just feels too low for a ceiling in FPS mode, and 125 units is about right, i think there were a few others who have mentioned this too.

Great video! Nice showcase for what you can do in EBE. Great for making levels like this.

How did you get the building so big? Is there a trick?
My dream is to develope games, which makes fun when I create it and fun when other people play it.

More than one EBE structure snapped together on the BB grid.

No trick ...Like Belidos says .... I created one ...then saved it .... Edited it .. and saved again under a new name... and then another so I had 3 variations of the same model ... opened a blank map and just added them like any other asset ...

I agree.
Waiting for the weekend to go in depth with EBE, at firts glance I'm a bit lost, and I do not know where to start.
For example, how to put some wall on top of other one, or the ceiling on top of the wall? , I've try Enter, but no to avail.

I guess it can be already stated in some vid, but since I don't understand nothing (because my poor english), well if someone can write here some tip abut, I will be very grateful.

Lee did a very quick guide here that should get you started ...

I find the EBE to be only usable because it shows a visible grid and allows you to draw (without overlaps). Ironically the 3 feature requested for entities a year or two ago. find it a bit humorous those features came for the EBE only and not entities. I still hope we get these "features", As I have some very complex interior structure pieces that would need them. Particularly the ability to draw entities while in grid mode (without overlap) is important. You'd also be able to draw things like fences with ease (in seconds).

Really nice layout synchromesh, i honestly wouldnt be able to tell the difference between it and the default demo top down game that comes with Unity - quality wise. I think with some additional similar lighting the same look could easily be archived.

I have a feeling a lot of things will be added from the coding work on the ebe (hope so )

Does anybody know how to get rid of the obvious seams between EBE pieces (especially walls)? They are visible both with the stock textures as well as custom textures.

Thanks a lot Jerry!
Firts time is a bit tricky, I'll keep trying until I get better results.

The game looks good (i would spice it up with some blue or green lights around terminals to break the monotonous lighting )
Can you make levels bigger with EBE ?

Yeah, it takes some getting used to. You lose the scroll to zoom functionality which for me was the hardest to get used to. (I'm still not used to it) It just takes some practice, though, to get used to all the little nuances of it. My little tutorial didn't cover every little trick, but it should at least get you comfortable enough to figure out the rest.

You can fill the map if you want ... That level was actually twice as big but then I realised I had fill it with detail and for a demo it wasn't worth the effort so cut it down drastically ...
