Computer Specs:
Windows 10
Intel Core i7-6700K 4.00GHz
16 GB RAM
64-bit
GeForce GTX 970

So I have made a standalone of my game and I can get through a couple of levels, but then when I finish about the 3rd stage the game freezes while loading and gives me a runtime error "Runtime Error 0 (loading_main)"

What does this mean? I'm at the point where I just want to get this project done set back after set back because of this engine and its "quirks". If not I'm just going to have to cancel this project. Please help!

Oh hey, I think I found a solution to this. It seems if you save often and then when you load it can pass the issue and load the next level. So it seems I can release it but as long as people save often and when they get the runtime error they close the game and load back thier previous save and it should work.

See if you can get the beta of your standalone to another GameGuru user as a play test and see if they encounter the same issue, this will be a good test run for an eventual release. One thing you could try is changing the flag in SETUP.INI to allowfragmentation=0 as this will ensure the executable is reset after each play.

Ya the allowfragmentation=0 didn't seem to work but I found out that if you just load a previous save state it sorta fixes it by allowing the game to continue. At least I am able to release the game and just have a developer's note in the game. Thanks for the help anyways.

Sounds like you're running out of memory, does it still happen if you load fresh (i.e. reboot the pc and load the standalone save) from the end of level 2 and play?
That will let you know if it's a specific problem with level 3 or not.

GG is pretty bad about clearing up after itself, just repeatedly load a map without doing anything and it'll crash.
I expect you have too much loaded by the time it reaches the 3rd level in 1 play through... I would recommend an auto save feature, I released one a while back that will save the game on level completion (for exactly this reason . )
